We fought Hitler because he declared war on the United States, not because we wanted to help anyone. While this historical fact is not denied by anyone, it is buried under the thick layer of propaganda. Most Americans aren't even aware of that. In fact Hitler did this in a very public way with a speech to his nation.
The victory over Hitler belongs to the Soviet Union and Russian Federation as its successor. We showed up when the outcome of the war was already decided on the "Russian Front". Another undeniable fact that was buried under a thick layer of propaganda.

This is debatable but draws on some truth. The USA before pearl harbor was happy to fuck off in its own borders, something that I think it owes an apology to the allies for. Yes, it did assist the war effort, but it was trying to skirt the fence.
This is so untrue I'm not sure why you said it, as I know you know it's untrue. I can only assume you wanted to illicit a response with it.
Officially there were 4 Nations declared as Victors. USSR, US, Britain and France. There were more who participated and sent troops. Canada for example. Soviet Union did most of the fighting, inflicting most casualties on the enemy and sacrificed the most, FAR AND AWAY.
German blitzkrieg ended with the defeat in a battle for Moscow. The turning point in the war came after German defeat in the battle of Stalingrad. German last ditch attempt to regain the momentum, operation Citadel ended with the defeat at Kursk. At that point it was clear Germany lost the war. All well before the D-day. The final major battle and symbolic battle of WWII, the battle for Berlin was also fought and won by the Red Army.
BTW, Hitler killed himself as the Red Army was closing in on Reich's Chancellery.

So do you think if the west had simply laid on their backs and not fought at all that germany would have been defeated on the same timeline, or can you acknowledge that the west played a positive role in germany's demise?
That last question was rhetorical. I know you can. And as with any team effort the team contributes to the success.
Marshal Zhukov estimated it would take Soviet Union 2 more years and millions more in casualties to defeat Nazi Germany alone and without foreign aid. There are infinite number of hypotheticals. What if the world listened to Stalin in 1938 and stood up to Hitler in Czechoslovakia?

That all happened before D day, true. But not before the US got involved.
When the US got involved it still looked like Germany was probably going to win. And if we hadn't, they probably would.
That was already answered. There were other Nation fighting on our side in Vietnam and Korea, but they rarely even mentioned if at all. The loss of Vietnam war belongs to us, not South Korea.
That is a true but misleading statement. They sacrificed the most but a lot of their casualties were due to their tactics. They simply sent wave after wave of infantry at the german lines where they were mowed down easily. One of the german generals actually labelled the russian air defense efforts as "infanticide - they were flying in tactically impossible formations."
Germany was well in retreat on the Eastern front (operation Bagration) and most of Soviet territory was already liberated before the D-day.

Ummmm, NO! They wouldn't have won the war without willing to make the same sacrifices as Germans. It was all out war on both sides. Germans could have saved a lot of men in many places, Stalingrad for example. French and British ran away from the fight at Dunkirk and somehow claiming it was a beginning of German defeat. What a joke.
Yes, Rosie-the-riveter was very much involved. Most of our troops were sitting it out in Britain.

Germany was not fighting soviets in a vacuum and it threw huge resources at the western front.
Not huge. Many of the troop that faced our forces on D-day weren't even German. One of the first German POW's taken during the D-day was actually a Korean who was recruited by the Nazis from Soviet POW camps. There is a photograph of that.
Germans did use the lull on the Eastern front during the Battle of the Bulge. It didn't go well for the allies and FDR pleaded with Stalin to begin the offensive earlier then what was planed by the Soviet high command. Stalin obliged. Who knows how the Battle of the Bulge would have ended if the Russians didn't begin their offensive earlier.

We fought for one reason and one reason only.
That is that we would rather fight WWII in Europe with allies than in New England and California alone.
