May Target Challenge

I couldn't imagine doing the pistol target with one of the 357 revolvers with my weak hand, but one of the 327 Federal magnum revolvers with 32 shorts would be ok.

Are the targets the same every month?

I belive ghe targets are different each month. I've only just stated participating recently myself, but last month the were different and the were the month before that. I would go with a low recoiling gun to enhance your precision. If you have .22 pistols I'd just go with those unless you are that much of a better shot with your .32 revolver. I noticed a marked differnce in my performance between using the 115gr range ammo and the 124gr defensive ammo, particularly the +Ps. Doing the match weak handed seems to have put a premium on recoil control.
I enjoyed the pistol portion of the match, which I didn't think I was. Did much better than I thought. I'm liking the oddball rules/provisions of these matches.
I am grateful for @dsdmmat for doing them, its adding purpose and spice to my range trips. Can't wait for next month. And for the 100 yard Iron Match.

yes 22s can be used.
Targets are always different. You may see a repeated target throughout the year with different rules attached. The emoji target will be back for the rifle catagory later on in the year. I shot the pistol with a .40 S&W full sized para ord 1911. I f I do a close in target (less than 10 yards) it will be for sub compact guns only but, that is another thread and another challenge. I feel it is important for people to practice with their carry guns too.

.22 seems to be the preferred tool for these matches. I don't use .22s for these matches simply because A I don't have a .22 pistol or I would be using it for these matches and B my poor 10/22 is way outperformed by the Daniel Defense AR accuracy wise.

Meh, I shot last months pistol target with an old model 15 .38 cal.
I'll most likely use it again for this challenge or possibly my 9mm carry gun. I was considering one of my .22's but that would just be too damn easy.

It would seem to me that for this particular pistol target that if one could use a caliber whose diameter matched that of the emojis one might do very well indeed.

Went out shooting today did the 100 yard challenge. 21 May 17, 100 yards off the bench.
AR 15 type free floated 19 inch 1-6 twist green mountain barrel 3-9x40 Nikon Prostaff.
.223, IMR 3031 21.5 grains, 69 grain SMK, Hornady cases, CCI 400

Well, it looks like is this going to be my weak hand entry. It's been raining cats & dogs here again since yesterday. I had a chance between rain drops to tune a New fiber optic site on my rodent detractor so here it is. I think I did pretty good considering this thing is a monster in the weak hand , not to mention the horrendous trigger.

It was a tough match but fun. I only wish I had printed twice as many targets for more paractice runs. 15 each sounded like a lot but I went through them all in short order.

Five yards with a pellet gun, you couldn't have done that in your basement or garage? You did great in any event however.

If anyone or everyone feels that a pellet pistol doesn't quite qualify as a firearm for this challenge Let me hear it and I'll do my best to get to the range to shoot it with a real pistol.

When I do a concealed carry challenge you won't be allowed to use it, until then you are good.

I didn't think for a second I was going to place in the pistol category but I am still very pleased with how I did.
My rifle target however, ick.
Chompin' at the bit for the next match, can't wait.

Is the scale the same? Its easier for me to order targets online than to try to get access to printer. I don't own one and I'm on the road all month.
