Who cares? If he owns the platform he can make those choices. I fail to see the issue here.... just like before. It's privately owned entity, and they can make rules, just like before. If they don't like it they can go make their own social media site with their own rules.

Nobody owes you support and can complain if they don't like you, that's just how it is. They aren't trying to destroy "free speech" for a couple reasons. First, twitter was never an unlimited free speech platform. Second, they're using their free speech to engage with companies that advertise there and you just don't like their opinions about you. Absolute Free speech should never really have been the goal, but fair speech is maybe more attainable. If Musk can't make that happen he may need to resolve himself to the reality that Twitter be scrapped. Either way, he would have done the world some good.
Of course those of the mind that "free speech" (or even fair speech) is only that which agrees with their own beliefs won't see it that way.

If I had funding enough to buy a social media company on the rocks and take it private, I’d systematically dismantle it, strip mine the codebase for any saleable IP, and put the domain name up for sale when I was done, along with any real estate. After all, who would I answer to? A board of directors? Hah.

The 1A may only restrain the government, but that doesn't mean private citizens can't be anti free speech. They may not be able to violate the 1A, but thay can certainly violate the principles it stands for.

That's the loophole that allows it to work.
Government is restrained by the constitution, so they enlist private corporations to do the dirty work. By extortion, bribes, or downright capture.
