But anyway, yes some people can shoot smaller guns better. It has something to do with hand size. All hands are different. Some people find that they can control single stacks better than larger double stacks. Others find the opposite. Some shoot a little low when their pinky applies too much pressure on the bottom of the grip. Some find that a smaller butt where their pinky dangles alleviates that.

Bigger isn't always better for everyone. That's impossible. That's why some people shoot the thinner 1911 better than a double stack behemoth.

Get it? Take one of those people and make them compete and the bigger gun won't be better for them.

Maybe that's the exact problem you are having. I suspect you need something smaller because drilling holes isn't cutting the mustard for you. It's okay to need something smaller that you can actually hold on to properly. It doesn't make you any less manlier. Some people get grip reductions for that very same purpose.

I'm actually one of those people who might get one. A single stack is too thin for me yet a double with the Glock hump is a little too thick. A grip reduction may alleviate that. Surely going even bigger wouldn't work for me. And yes. I'm one of those people that shoots better with the dangle compared to a full sized grip or an extension. That's why I took the extensions off my 26.

My Club has a large IDPA group of shooters, and there seems to be a new trend with metal guns for matches as of late! My own personal favorite is my 30 year old S&W 6906 DA/SA it is not really that heavy at 24oz (aluminum alloy frame) And the trigger when in SA is so light and the reset is incredibly nice!

I'm noticing the that trend of going back to metal frames as well, hell look at the new sweet as PPQ.

While I'm going to bet this 92x is going to be one smooth shooting gun, its going to have trouble breaking into a market saturated by custom and semi custom 2011s and CZs,

I was just talking to a friend about this, and how S&W may be dropping the ball here and they made so many really good metal guns just a few years ago! Could have to do with them moving the Springfield plant?

Either that or they have been focusing so much on just the standard M&P line. I mean for the longest time they were the majority when it came to single stack polymer striker fired baby guns. The Shield was out a good amount of time before glock dropped the 42.

No I'm good I know it has something to do about how sight radius is a myth and g 26s and g 17 something something,

But here's the thing when it comes to guns in the class this one is in, sight radius does make a difference.

Bigger guns are always going to be easier to shoot, more sight radius is always going to make being more accurate easier. Sorry but that's just how it works

Everyone knows the most accurate Glock is the 30.

In the market space that it seems to be going for, I'd buy a CZ Shadow 2 any day of week long before this.. but at least they got rid of the slide mounted safety.

A little more on topic, one more advantage I see the shadow or any CZ has over this is the ability to bump up into the unlimited class and run optics. Not sure if there are many or any frame mounting options for the 92

I keep up with Beretta's on gunbroker.....the all metal 92's and M9a1/M9a3's seem to sell just fine. They can range anywhere from $470 on the low side to $750 on the high side. The custom, or semi-custom, Langdon and Wilson Combat models will fetch a bit higher than that.

The 92x is definitely catering to a specific crowd, but I anticipate it will sell well enough. It's not just the fact that these pistols are all metal, nor that they're DA/SA that creates this demand...I think Beretta's just have a good reputation for build quality and performance. I can find 92a1's (which are arguably overbuilt for handling 9mm) w/ chrome-lined barrel, nice consistent DA/SA trigger pull and 17 round magazines for under $500...you're getting quite a lot of bang for your buck there.

33oz weight is a big deal on paper...in reality it doesn't make a huge difference unless you're carrying with a bad belt. Most warfighters don't carry pistols, so the whole debate over pistol weight is mostly irrelevant in that regard. Cops do rely on pistols a lot more, but if the extra 12oz a Beretta 92 or M9 has over a Glock 19 is a deal-breaker for LE then they're probably out of shape and shouldn't be cops. A little bit of extra weight is actually good for most types of shooting scenarios.

I certainly don't see this as a CCW IWB appendix carry pistol, but for shoulder-holster CCW, competition, shooting courses, night-stand defense, ect. these all metal pistols handle quite well IMHO.

Well again this gun was specifically designed (beretta even has an interview talking about this) for competition shooting and to compete with things like custom 2011s CZ TSO and the likes

Why get such a chunky pistol when you can only put 10 rounds in it? It would be a lot more appealing outside of NY.

Stability. Or do you think you can shoot a stubby 3 finger grip gun as well as a full sized 4 finger grip gun? I sure can't. Even if I lived in NY still I'd have a full size gun for that reason alone.
Mecgar makes an excellent 18 round magazine for the 92. Just sayin'.
As for the 92X. Any DA/SA with an external safety gets a "meh" from me. For competition or target use give me a Single Action trigger, for everything else give me a decocker.
I still want the Wilson Combat Brigadier Tactical, Vertec grip version. No disrespect to the LTT.
