Another exception to my earlier statement, that whole series of .22 pistols is fine, I like those.

This Sunday I will along with the new P320.
I was very happy with how my 2.0 shot. Nowhere near as snappy as my Kahr mk9, the trigger was nice as well. Very accuate little guns. Probably the best grouping I've had with a pistol.
I have always been impressed with the Shield's ability to shoot like a much bigger gun, with the better grip and the extra capacity this thing is likely to become my primary carry gun.
The orange mag followers sure are Purdy!
It's not much like the Apex, it's S&W's own little thing, made of polymer. It does have the nicest trigger dongus I have come across, very wide, sits flush with the rest of the trigger when depressed, you can't even tell its there.
Same amount of effort........ from what I recall when my Gen 1 was new. I found all the controls and springs of the Gen 1 Shield, including the magazine springs, to be quite stiff and a little difficult to work with at first. After a few hundred rounds however the gun and magazines mellowed out. After 4 years of service my Gen 1 is now a smooth and slick piece.

Neither. It's more of a long-term thing. I'm considering a 10 rd semi-auto. Right now my only semi-auto is my carry piece, which is a Walther PPS. I don't have a problem with 6-8 rds of .40 S&W, but I do eventually want something to maximize my round count. The Shield and P365 look great in 9mm. Also considering a Gen 5 Glock 23 or 27 though, just because I really enjoy the .40 S&W and reload for it.
Hmnnnn, well the P365 is also a fine pistol and has better sights and IMO a nicer trigger. However in my hands the P365 is a bit too small and it was snappier and a bit harder to keep on target...... from what I remember anyway, I only shot the P365 once and it was last summer plus I am obviously biased. That's said I picked my original Shield over its competitors due to its heft, size and balance feeling just right to me. More generally I am very enthusiastic regarding these high capacity micro pistols, I found myself carrying my original Shield more frequently than the Glock 19 and I was always a little wary about the relative lack of firepower. The P365, Shield Plus, Ruger Max-9.......... and I suppose the Springfield Hellcat *cough* fuck Springfield *cough* all give us the best of all worlds for a carry gun. Hell, with the extended magazines installed they could even serve as decent house guns............. well maybe not in NYS. Sorry.
I have the gen 5 Glock 27 and it shoots fantastic. It feels like shooting my 9mm Glock. I run the pinky extension mags so it holds 10 rounds of 40 in the mags. One thing to be aware of is that the slide on the gen 5 40 cal glocks is 1-2mm wider then previous Gen 40 cal glocks so holster fitment is an issue. I had to have a custom holster made for mine.
