I've said this for years. This is exactly why Westchester wants every...single...individual...amendment to go past the judges' desks. It gives them more opportunities to review permits, find fault with the citizen, and infringe on their rights.

That's how it is in rensselaer county. Every amendment has to be signed off on by your judge.
Had my unrestricted for over 45 years. If they don't contact me, it's not going to happen. Without official documents generated, reviewed and approved, in reality, how can they do it?

Maybe a few, but not many will not renew their permits in a stand of defiance. I know I will renew. It would be a nice show if no one throughout the State renewed, that is not likely. Most did next to nothing at the time of signing or the few months afterward. Look at how many ran out and registered their "Assault Rifles" when they were told to.
The only way to end this crap is to elect the correct kinds of people to represent us in Albany. We all know that will not happen either. The same shit continues to get re-elected.
Really makes me ill that "We the People" allow the few to shit on us day in and day out.
I hate everything about the Permit Process in NY and this only makes it worse. I still do not understand the need for us to renew. May not be as bad if they explained why all of a sudden after more than 100 years they feel it is needed to renew.

This is my way of thinking as well. Bury them in Paperwork. Do not make it easy by using their web site!
I agree we need to change the people we elect as the best solution. It would be awesome to promote mass noncompliance but no one wants to be the test case. If you're unlucky enough to be among the first few to be arrested and have your property confiscated it will cost more (in money, time and loss of personal liberty) than the average person can possibly afford to fight against the unlimited resources of NYS.

The "AW" non compliance is one thing.. no one knows what you've got, they know you've got pistols though and they'll come knockin. Better have your boating accidents in order when you get that call too. Could go real bad.

As I understand, the SP will issue another card for you to carry with your PP, and tied to youe DL.
And you can be sure everything will now show up when stopped by any cop. I've had a PP for 30+ years and not about to lose it.
When I move to the southwest USA they can keep my PP for all I care.

Everyone unless you get something in the mail telling you to renew then ignore it. I can't imagine they can hold anybody responsible to renew if they are not personally notifying you. It sucks for you guys, but its been like that for down here forever.

How can the State Police have control over a carry permit when it was issued by a Judge in that particular county. Mine says on the back .."expires when revoked"...where does it say the State Police have that authority over the Judge who issued it. The State Police are enforcers of the law..not the law determining party

So, illegal aliens in NYC get an I.D. card and all info immediately gets wiped, so they are untraceable. Law abiding firearm owners must register, be tracked and update information so that NY state can monitor them anytime. Bizzaro world is here!
