NEWSFLASH: Pistol Permit Recertification

I'm not talking about other states or NYC I was talking about other counties in NY STATE that have to follow state law which has no renewal just the recertification which is not the same thing
As I said in my first post I believe it will be a Re-Cert for the first 5 years then become a renewable license ( Yes a Law would need to be passed! )
And as far as a Court challenge, Nation wide precedent is there for renewable CCW's

Well geeeeee, I wonder when they will start charging to Vote? Or the Gov't charge publicist for their voice, per word (count). And if you are acquitted of a crime, the prosecution bill if you demanded a trial by jury! How about a fee to invoke the 5th? Or yet, pay a fee and not be searched (warrant).

No shit nation wide, but those states also have it written in their law. But new york state does not, there for you can't say how one state has their laws written as "every x number of years one must renew" would be a valid argument for a county in NYS (fun fact that means they are not in a different state that has renewals) in court for why they are not following new york state law by making up random renewals
I did say that the law would need to be passed to make our license renewable did I not! Just like a law (SAFE-ACT) was passed to make us Re-Cert!
And then it would hold up in Court because of Nation wide precedent of Renewable Licenses!
What I am saying is most of yall are acting like it's 100% Next time go around everyone is going to be paying money.

Sorry I gave two examples that maybe should of been separated!
First the 3 Counties and NYC are not breaking any current Law as they are written into Pl 400. That being said is precedent that the State can pass a Law changing our current licenses to renewable also!
Then a Court challenge to that would also hold up because most other States also issue Renewable CCW licenses!

Some of you guys are worried about paying when you next have to recertify.
In the mean time, we should all be shitting bricks because Cuomo is trying to strongarm the IDC into rejoining the Democratic caucus. If this happens, what little help we had from the GOP (and yes, it was very little) goes away and the Dems have a majority in the Senate.
This could happen as early as NEXT MONTH.
If it does, things like mandatory liability insurance and ammo purchase limitations will almost certainly become a reality.
We would be very well served if we quit squabbling about shit that isn't even being talked about, and take a long, hard look at the imminent threat.

It's coming. I'd bet my last 5 bucks on it. Also, look for the Ct. style ammo purchasing card that will most likely cost 25-50 dollars a year and you won't be able to buy ammo w/o one.

I sent it in 30 days before the renewal date, but they ran two weeks past that.

In another post about pistol permits it was mentioned that if one owed back child support a permit would not be granted ...Does this hold true for the recertification process ? They could disarm a percentage of the population without any effort . .. IF true.

I submitted my recert in Orange County the day before the deadline. I got confirmation of the accepted and processed renewal eight weeks later.

Definitely snail mail the day before the deadline. Certified, return receipt requested.
Westchester is different. Our permits expire every 5 years unless you renew. This has nothing to do with UNSAFE. Waiting until the last minute could be a problem.

The recert cost is the least of our problems. Dems are working towards total disarmament of the people. Can't pass a law simply saying that. That might be going too far, even for the 2nd Circuit. (But not the NY state courts, that recognize neither the constitution or the Supreme Court, where guns are concerned).

1) Can't have a pistol unless we say you can.
2) If we decide to take your pistols we can also take your long guns.
3) We have made the definitions of legal long guns so complex and vague that no one knows what is legal and what is not, but if you guess wrong, its your fault. Better not to have any at all to avoid prosecution.
4) If ANY ONE claims you are dangerous, we will take all your guns.
5) You are not entitled to any hearing for loss of rights, because you don't have any rights.
6) If you tell a medical person you can't sleep, you have mental problems, so we suspend your privileges.
7) If the medical clerk makes a mistake, we suspend your privileges.
8) If you have an argument with ANY ONE we suspend your privileges.
9) Crazy people can't have guns. We decide who is crazy.
10) If you live in NY you are crazy.
11) If you visit NY, you are crazy.
12) Your job as a subject of NY is to work and pay taxes. If we decide, we might let you keep some of the money.
13) If you do not agree with 12, there is no place for you in NY, so you must leave. But we still want you to pay NY taxes when you go.

This shit is why I refuse to get a pistol permit in NY. I am not going to beg the sheriff and judge to let me exercise my constitutional rights, register my guns, and get in a database to have all my guns taken away on a whim.
I’m going to go buy more long guns, and I will move out of state before I will ever register my long guns or beg some officer of the state for my right to keep them.
I’m not leaving yet though. There is hope we can right this ship and keep NY from turning into California.

I understand. I wasn't keen on going through the pistol permit process myself, but I've long preferred handguns over long guns. (still do) Plus if you want to get into semi-auto rifles you are restricted there..
But the FUDDs are still safe with their pump shotguns. (for now)

I’m a reformed fudd. Maybe this election cycle, with Cynthia pushing Cuomo and seeing how bad it’s gotten in other states other fudds will start seeing the light. It can happen. A lot of pendulums are swinging across this great nation and a lot of dems are aghast at what happened to their party.
Don’t waste time arguing with an anti. Take them out shooting, then take them to a gun shop. Seeing is believing and it works.
