This has to be some kind of liberal ruse! A way to get all us 2Aers in one spot for the Fuds to get us...

For the people that are intested, where are you located? I’m near Oswego
We r pretty far apart lol.Peekskill/West Point/Bear Mountain vicinity.
We could also do various range days across the state on / around the same day to make it easier for members everywhere. Maybe even t-shirts
I drive over a hour for both my hunting leases. If we can work something out with dsdmmat, maybe us local guys can drive up there.I drive almost an hour now just to go hunting. I'd be willing to stretch that out a bit just to go shooting w/ forum members - whether it's pistols and knockdown targets, long range plinking, more of a challenge/bet for the more accomplished shooters, something. I've never shot my bolt over 100y and I just like to hear "ping!" when I shoot, so I don't care I guess.
I could even try to bring @NirvanaFan with me, we're both in Rochester.
That would make the most sense for making it more accessible for all members. I'm wondering how we should go about organizing this? One thing I hadn't considered, and I hope this isn't a buzz kill, is that most ranges only allow members to bring a small number of guests. So it would have to be set up as an official event...I guess???We could also do various range days across the state on / around the same day to make it easier for members everywhere. That’s my experience as well. I did a predator hunting shoot and the one member set it up and was responsible for the event. We all had to pay to get it, it was $5 per person. That would make the most sense for making it more accessible for all members. I'm wondering how we should go about organizing this? I don't have an issue with a range fee and it will most likely cost everyone something on top of any range fees to make this happen, but then again, so would any shooting or training event. Is renting a range an option? That’s my experience as well. I did a predator hunting shoot and the one member set it up and was responsible for the event. That would be the way to go I think. What about breaking the state into 3 general regions, North, South and West, and having people from each region coordinate with each other regarding how to make this possible?
These are questions the coordinators should talk about....You want to be one?Not to get ahead of things but other things to think about:
What kind of shoot? Target? Steel? Rifle? Shotgun? Pistol?
Do we want to make it standardized across all the regions or let each region decide what kind of shoot/targets/guns/calibers/Etc.?
Safety standards?
Calibers?
Should it be educational or purely for fun? Or maybe just let it evolve into whatever?
If this actually does get going and is successful, should there be a spot in the forum for after action reports?
IDK, just spitballing here....

By the time you pay for gas and ammo another $10-$20 for a range fee isn't significant anyway.I don't have an issue with a range fee and it will most likely cost everyone something on top of any range fees to make this happen, but then again, so would any shooting or training event. I'm sure we'll find something for you to play with.Almost nothing I own is allowed in NY. All pistols are out and my rifles are free. I think that leaves me with a 12g and 22lr
