No."adding 15-20 hours of training, including live-fire practice, for example". Is that before or after the permit is issued.
The way article 400 is written. people that don't have a permit can not handle a "firearm". Like a catch 22
Funny, I voted in the Primary yesterday and they asked for my driver's license.where do i get 15 to 20 hours of Voting Training and Live Voting Practice .. can i do that by mail in ?
will i need a in person voting interview before i register and pay and get finger printed .. ?
I had the opposite experience. As always, I step up to the district table and when they ask me my name I show them my driver's license. They get apoplectic. "You don't have to show ID," the Dem poll watcher always exclaims hurriedly. "We all SHOULD," I reply before putting my ID back in my wallet.Funny, I voted in the Primary yesterday and they asked for my driver's license.
Now, what is funny is that a Primary is "Party Business" for Party Members Only!
YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF DAS PARTY TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY!
Suddenly, Just like that, the DNC requires an ID.
Never been asked for ID at a General Election.
Directly against SCOTUS decision.Amy Paulin has been busy writing. Off her Assembly page
-We now need to ensure that guns are prohibited from mass transit, entertainment venues, religious institutions, and bars and restaurants where alcohol is served, just to name a few. I have introduced a bill that will make it a crime to possess guns at these “sensitive places.”
Unconstitutional.-I’ve also introduced a bill requiring a license to possess shot guns and rifles. This is common sense and should already be in place
-The third bill requires all firearm permit holders to have an evaluation from a mental health professional rather than merely stating that they are mentally fit which is what the current law requires.
-Another bill requires completion of a training course in order to obtain a license for a firearm under New York State law, and an advanced training course which includes time on the firing range for those seeking a license to carry a weapon in public.
No.Requiring thorough training for all permit holders will help increase public safety as more guns are now likely to be carried out onto New York’s streets.
-Finally, I’ve introduced a bill which requires background checks prior to the renewal of a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver. This will lead to license holders being screened every 5 years to ensure that they have no prior conviction of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, have not been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility pursuant to NYS mental hygiene, criminal procedure, and correction laws, and have not been reported by a medical health professional to likely engage in conduct that would result in serious harm to themselves or others.
I venture say that I have been far more involved politically than the vast majority of even those here on this forum. I've canvassed, distributed fliers, worked phone banks, sought registrations, sought signatures to be put on ballots, and donated time to several campaigns. Has it gotten me anything ? No, I can't say that it has. Since the people I may have helped get elected are but a small handful of Statesmen in a corrupt system, their votes on any proposed legislation mean nothing, always being dwarfed by the NYC delegation of corrupt extremists in Albany, or for that matter, in DC.Not caring what they do in NYC is not the point. Can't change them. As long as you and your country brothers and sisters get out to vote, that's what matters. Too many times I hear people make the same 'WhoTF cares about NY Shitty' comments and say their vote won't count or change anything. That's what gets me all worked up.
Between the FUDDS and the apathetic Republicans who don't vote we can effect change. It requires a mindset to work as a team though. We have the numbers. It takes an effort.
It just shows how out of touch they are if they don’t think background checks aren’t done before a renewal is issued.I have not found any bills filed yet. I guess we get to find out after they pass them

If you think the roads are better closer to NYC , I would hate to see the roads you travel on. Every time I go upstate, I am amazed how smooth the roads are compared to downstate .I venture say that I have been far more involved politically than the vast majority of even those here on this forum. The Rotten Apple could fall off and sink for all I care. In fact, I wish it would. They treat upstate with disdain. As far as they're concerned, the rest of the State is just there to send NYC their tax money and electricity. NYC gets whatever the hell it wants, at the expense of the rest of the State. Don't believe me ? Try driving across the State. You will quickly notice that the closer you get to the Big Shithole, the better the roads get. Appease the place that brings you the votes. The rest of the State can just go F themselves. I'm F'ing sick of it.
I agree, but it was left wide open. Thomas specifically only said it cannot be a blanket area, but sensitive areas are permitted. What a sensitive area is has to be hashed out, but it was defined as where people congregate and LE is available. What congregate means is not defined nor is what is available.Directly against SCOTUS decision.
In the end its likely to be, but Illinois FOID system is still in effect which is exactly what they wantUnconstitutional.

Are we going to be required to have 15-20 hours training completed before we have to recertify our lifetime permits?
Here is my hunter safety certificate, the 5 hour certificate from the permit class and my DD214. Fuck offAre we going to be required to have 15-20 hours training completed before we have to recertify our lifetime permits?
You don’t think they aren’t running the name in the computer? I absolutely know they do here in every county licensing office downstate. And even periodically run names in between renewals.Renewals aren't "issued" and there is no BCG when you renew your license
I hope that surfices for what they are asking for. These [censored] will do stuff just to annoy like say 20 hours of additional training. Here is my hunter safety certificate, the 5 hour certificate from the permit class and my DD214. Fuck off
So a bunch of places that are already "gun free". Got it. The "just do something" crowd strikes again. Here's a list of "sensitive places" that Gov. Hochul says NY will ban guns from:
- Gov't buildings
- Health and medical facilities
- Places where children gather, incl. daycares, parks, zoos, playgrounds
- Public transportation
- Polling places
- Educational institutions

I walked up to the table and two nice older ladies asked me my name. I told them my name and they read off my address and asked me if that was correct.I voted in the Primary yesterday and they asked for my driver's license.
I've said it many times, I may be a poor man but I'll gladly go broke donating tge materials for the new gallows! Are there vegan options available for tar and feathers? Something non fossil fuel and Gretta approved? Hemp rope?
Not really when you factor in all the gun control laws the NRA helped install.Pretty hypocritical coming from someone who previously had an "A" rating from the NRA.
Republican or Democrat officials?I walked up to the table and two nice older ladies asked me my name. I told them my name and they read off my address and asked me if that was correct.
They did the same to the people in line before and after me.
No ID. No "what is your address", etc.
so easy to fake it's laughable.
Won't matter anyway, the "machine" was out of order and the ballot had be placed in the "emergency slot".They're not allowed to ask for ID.
I'm sure they weren't ID-ing everybody. A call to the county elections board is on order!
