Options for AR-15 fixed mag

I bought a ten round magazine specifically for the 350, use the round blocker for hunting and use the 350 follower that came with the magazine. I never file or alter the lips of my magazines but I do take some 220 then 400 emery paper to the under side edge of the lips in case there might be a burr along the edge from manufacturing, kind of like a well used magazine. I may have had a couple jambs along the way, can't remember for sure though, I have put a few hundred rounds through it. Its' important to use a magazine made specifically for the 350, heck, any caliber used in an AR, while they all fit the Mag Well, they all have differing rib configurations and followers. Good quality Mag is critical for good reliable function in these guns.

FWIW: The magazines for .450BM (and a couple others) use a special follower AND a conventional follower inside what used to be considered a "20 round" Magazine.
What many folks don't realize is a conventional 5.56/.223 magazine will not work with .350 Legend (or the .400 Legend) because of the Bullet guides stamped in the mag body itself.
Also, Ruger uses the same MSR Magazine for their American Rifles in .350

Yep. I read if you file those guides off a basic 5.56/.223 mag, it would work. For me, it did not. It's a deer rifle so I can only have 5 rounds anyway, so I just ordered two of the designated 5 round steel mags which have the proper follower and no guides. I didn't really think filing the little nubby guides off would work, but gave it a shot all the same. The straight wall cartridges have to utilize a different set of parts in the mags to function properly.

Those guides are not in the Feed Lips, they are actually stamped into the side of the magazine body...now if you took a Mill and cut them away leaving slot like windows in the sides, they would likely work.

No mill for me, so it was cheaper to buy the dedicated magazines.

I like the idea of the Kali Key, but it's too borderline for me to drop $250 on. No tools to make the rifle back to factory specks and non-compliant.
