3 weeks doesnt really merit a phone call.. over a month maybe..
who is your judge?
they maybe busy on an important case
I doubt it. It's been 4 weeks now, right? I've had them take over 5 weeks. Give it another week.

A few times I had that feeling, and they did screw up. Try and give them a call (if they'll answer the phone) or stop by and make them bullshit you in person.
Can't screw anything up? When was the last time you saw a government agency NOT screw something up?
This is not my first rodeo here. I have been buying pistols and getting amendments since the day you could walk up the stairs in the gov't bldg. and get one on the spot. I have probably sent over 50 amendments over the years.
The last 10 or so I have hand delivered, instead of mailing. This last one, I as usual, I brought in person. When I got there, there was 3 or 4 people on line to get permit application info. When I finally got into the office, there was a young guy there, and he seemed much more interested in a cute young squash in there talking to another county employee. He just took my paperwork, glanced at it for about 2 seconds, and said "ok, thanks", and threw it on a pile of papers. Didn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

honestly what is there for them to screw up?
YOU have to make sure they receive the paperwork (either hand delivered or mailed)
YOU have to make sure it is filled out correctly and completely
YOU have to make sure the self addressed stamped envelope has your correct address on it
They literally have to bring it to the judge to sign, print your updated card and stuff if in the envelope that YOU provide..
Trust me I am no fan of government or this process at all.. But you need to have patients

I have waited longer than 4 or 5 weeks for amendments in the past. Hell, I remember people saying the wait was 3 months at one point a while back.
This past time though for some reason I just didn't get a good feeling. YOU are correct In the fact that I have to provide the correct paperwork, which again, is not the problem. For all I know, he could have thrown it in the shred-it pile, as there was shit all over the place. And Stevie Wonder could have seen his mind was not on his business. And, call me crazy, but I have less than zero confidence in anything government, state, county or any agency does at this point.

If you're handing the amendment in in person, make sure you ask for a receipt, especially if you pay cash. Mostly I like to see their reaction to being asked to do their jobs, but its also nice to make them jump through an extra hoop - like they do to us.

Went to permit office Wednesday, was told it was mailed on Monday. From Goshen to Goshen. Nothing Wed. Nothing Thurs. Nothing Friday. Go back to permit office on Fri., then get told it was mailed on 24th.
Don't know who to believe. Such bullshit.

That's the way it should be if this is the process that we have to live with. 3 weeks(not even) isn't bad. I like Judge Freehill, in fact he married my wife and I in one of the first ceremonies he performed, however he is just too busy.
5 weeks is bullshit, just too long. And then to be given wrong information at permit office, that's just perfect.

you basically just described government in 14 words..
Problem Trauma is that its not just government. It everywhere. Very little pride in ones work. Nobody is responsible for anything.

Its difficult for alot of people to find pride in their work, when 1/3 of their check is being stolen away and wasted on bullshit pork barrel and "social programs"
And, most are too worried about being offended, or who's racist than the integrity of the work that they do, or service that they provide.
We are in the shitter my friend.
