Buddy...I had to sight in a pink MSR at a range for a relative. Once I had it all dialed in, the RSO looked at me and said, "Good. Are you going to put that away now?" I responded, "Why? I'm secure enough in my sexuality to shoot a pink rifle." He chuckled and then asked me, once again, to put away the pink rifle.
In all fairness I think he was more concerned with you shooting the AR in a bikini.

I'm actually building my wife a pink Ar aswell. So far I have the black lower, black stock, and black upper. You know....this one's mine too, she can have the next one.

You don't know the half of it. The bottoms didn't give much support. I get very excited when shooting rifles. So...the hot brass bouncing back from the stall's wall landed on some really sensitive places.

As you can see, my wife doesn't like plain black rifles:
(The "Sig pink" lower in the first image doesn't match the Magpul pink furniture. So...that could lead to additional customizing...ugh!)

I thought it would be funny to put a pink AR together. I mean, how can it look scary to people. Most folks would think it was a toy. So if some non-firearm/ hunting types saw me with it hunting they wouldn't freak out.
Blaze orange furniture may have the same effect and be more masculine for those who aren't too secure.

tnarmsco makes a magpul pink polymer ar-15 lower, i have one, (build for the girlfriend to learn how to shoot with). no issues with it and it was cheap.

Kind of cool. I like the futuristic-looking one the guy on the right is holding.
I'd thought about Cerakote, but everything I found just looked brown instead of that almost blackened brass look.
My husband says I should Bedazzle the AR I just finished. Maybe some topaz Swarovski's.
