As an other it is not listed on your Permit...It is similar to buying a rifle...But it is not a rifle or a Pistol...it is not restricted by the 5 deadly sins of the Safe act...except for the high capacity Magazine...

Chiming in here, I bought my POF Other from L&L In Harrison. I know Blue Line in Elmsford is selling it as shown in previous comments, as well as Smokin Gun in Mount Vernon. Another Gun store in Dutchess was selling them when I stopped in. Like mentioned, they are flying off the shelves.
Also although it doesn't directly help us in NY, NJ State Troopers deemed them legal to own in NJ -

I disagree, It doesn't help us 0%, the percentage is higher as they define exactly the same reason "Others" are legal in NY. I'll continue to go to the range both public and private with it, if I'm arrested I have the $ to put up a battle and there are numerous Gun organizations within our own state boundaries that will assist with legal aid. Just sounds like a-lot of FUDD's around here scared of the government. It plays both way's, they won't want to take this to court in-case they do lose and it tears apart the SAFE Act just like the current case before the supreme court may completely unravel the States administrative restrictions placed by counties.

I’m curious as to what gun organizations within our borders will help if someone is ever charged as having an unregistered AR pistol with a front grip.
Because none of them stepped up to help the FFL with the MR2 and none of them stepped up to help those 2 out of state kids who had MR2’s. If I remember correctly, it was the Tresmond divorce lawyers who helped those kids and all they ended up doing was pleading out.

Shit. I must be standing up for my rights because I recently bought a legal handgun from Ruger.
Put a stock on that, stand in front of the barracks with a 30 rounder and then tell me that you are standing up for your rights.

The POF is fine it measures 26-1/2" from buffer tube to the end of the barrel not including the muzzle device. The information in the link is nothing new, just a clarification. Also a good guide for those that build their own.

Seriously, I think it's dishonest to say the ATF "rescinded" their method of measuring OAL. Anybody building these should have read the relevant letters, and anybody who read the letters would have understood that they never outlined how to measure OAL with a brace, but with a stock.
