I am also very familiar with that community, did installation work in hundreds of their homes. Many of them were Holocaust survivors with interesting stories to tell. The father of my boss fought in Tito's army. They knew very well the difference between fascism and communism. They also have different factions with different views, come from different regions in Europe and don't always get along with each other.
They live in their own world and come across as weird, but in some ways they are more sophisticated and better people then those who poke fun at them.

I often shoot at New Holland, PA and on my way back stop by Amish produce stands to bring something home. Don't know them well, but they come across as good people.

You can clearly see a Thordsen Gen 2 stock on one and a 10 round magazine on another. So it stands to reason that that they are compliant weapons. My post is pretty clear and accurate but you are on the defensive for being called out on the coward comment so whatever.

Land used for agricultural purposes has always been exempt from, or given a huge break on property taxes, due to the fact that it was once how most people earned a living.

And, there we are. Everyone's had their say. We live in 2 totally different New York's. My County is bigger than the State of Rhode Island. I am surrounded by woods.

After being stationed at West Point, I hated that area. Newburgh was one of the biggest arm pits I ever saw. Standing on the old railroad bridge, in Poughkeepsie, over the Hudson, at night watching the world go by over a few beers, one of my fonder memories.

I don't have a clue what goes on in downstate cities. I do know that Cuomo is a political opportunist, with no shame.

I salute those individuals exercising their rights by carrying their rifles to protect their fellow men and women. Proves once again that no government on earth ever has, does or ever will guarantee your personal safety.

The Amish I see here in Marathon are very polite and respectful, best prices on steel roofing that they roll and hard workers. But the honesty part eludes me lol. I've been in the local doller general and I swear a seen a couple of them trying to pocket stuff a few times. And the DEC now keeps an eagle eye on them at the lake. They hide coolers in the bushes, when they completely fill one with fish they'll swap it out for an empty. DEC seen something odd and parked way back to walk in through the brush and watch them. Giving the opportunity they'd strip that lake of fish if they could get away with it.
