I’m not understanding these “lesser charges” that are being put on the table. How can one be convicted of charges that he was never indicted for? The DA shot for the moon and failed miserably. Why are they now lowering the bar?

The only charge they can legitimately get him on is littering.

The implied tantrum violence if they don't get their bully verdict really pisses me off. Every concerned law abiding citizen should up their loaded magazine count and carry a backup firearm in their car. These are not peaceful protest not covered by the First Ammendment. Then ask him if the burnt-out businesses paid taxes. What do they pay taxes for?
So if they are paying taxes to the city to for police and fire and other services, and you take away those services, you caused the people to arm themselves and protect that which you wouldn't.
If he is acquitted, the rules of engagement for the next riot have changed. Gonna be a run on slings.

If found guilty it won't change much except that it will create a situation where if a law abiding citizen is forced to use self defense they will no longer stick around to wait for the police. People law abiding and otherwise will still carry and still defend themselves.
