I don't think I've ever heard a bad think about the HiPoint carbines, they seem to be universally well liked. The Chiappas on the other hand.........

Please update when you do,I am very curious to know what these will be selling for around here.
YEA!!! Who, What, Where, When...You know...All the details!!!!!
On a related note if The Ruger PC Carbine succeeds, and I think it will, I wonder if the company would consider a re-release of the Deer Stalker model? Perhaps an updated version utilizing the signature rotary magazine? I think there is an enthusiastic niche market out there for a semi automatic carbine in magnum revolver cartridges. Would be a great brush gun, or a good bear defense gun.
I had a hi-point carbine in .45. It was flawless for thousands of rounds.I don't think I've ever heard a bad think about the HiPoint carbines, they seem to be universally well liked. The Chiappas on the other hand.........
Tell that to @meketrefe.I had a hi-point carbine in .45. It was flawless for thousands of rounds.
I doubt they will do that because the housing for the adapter is not large enough for a 357If they released a 357 mag and a 44 mag model with 10 round magazines, I'd buy each in a heartbeat.
I suppose a tube magazine like on the original wouldn't be out of place for its primary purpose of hunting. I bet it would sell.I doubt they will do that because the housing for the adapter is not large enough for a 357
Magazine and the extractor does not look it will work with a flat bolt head. But I might be wrong.
Imo they would most likely reissue the 99 /10/357 with rotary mag. You might find one in gunbroker. I saw a 44msg there the other day. Of course they sre collection or used.
I think so but they make the rotary magazine for the 357 and 44 and work great that is the same they are using now in the m77 bolt action so I would imagine they would ise them. It is the same design as the 10/22 but larger obciously and they are well know for their reliability and durability. If those rimmed calibers grew you would probably see aftermarket magazines and not just rotary ones but i doubt they will return of it they do they would grow so much to create that demand. But who knows....I suppose a tube magazine like on the original wouldn't be out of place for its primary purpose of hunting. I bet it would sell.

Rotary mag could prolly hold 5 right?Probably not, but I was thinking more along the lines of an updated deerefield carbine that'll hold more than 4 rounds.
5 rounds.
Look at this sweet little rifle.
One can actually hunt with these things.
It puts out quite a punch between a 30 carbine or 300 blackout and a 7.62x39 hunting load.
That's not exactly a valid point.less lemon trees? I am a "senior" guy. Have seen lots of failures including catrastofic ones (kaboom)
When you ride on the road don't you notice the brands and models of the cars that break down?
Any car can break down but there seems to be some usual suspects.
Last problem I assisted with a high point I don't think it was the design but the side plate simply
disintegrated. It was obviously not properly heat treated, that is why.
So who does the QC for these brands? No QC = less dollars?
That's not exactly a valid point.
As they cost less, more will be sold, and more problems may exist, but that doesn't mean % wise it's any different.
My 995, no problems QC wise. I do dislike things about it, specifically the takedown and bolt lock back, but I accept that at the lower price point. I don't accept the "you're better off throwing it at the guy" mentality" though.
Well, it's always a lottery ticket. The problem is that people grossly devalue the odds of Hi-point because of a stigma. It is a lottery ticket. Here and there you get one that works well and lasts a reasonable time.
Personally I think there are affordable firearms that are well made and even some with flaws that
can be easily corrected then they become amazing guns.
the issue is, who is doing it?
At the same time you also have expensive firearms and calibers that are not that great
and on top horrible customer support.
That is the trick, find a good balance and keep in mind this is a world of trade-offs.
That is why many times one does more with less. lower TCO yet more effectiveness
and efficiency. ...plus even more fun although that can be subjective.
Don't be telling people about this well kept secret. It's on my super short list...Just need some $$$$
It is not stigma Darth. you know me, I take things apart. I study closely.Well, it's always a lottery ticket. The problem is that people grossly devalue the odds of Hi-point because of a stigma.
Me knowing you is why I have doubts about your anecdotal findings on this issue. You typically don't do that.It is not stigma Darth. you know me, I take things apart. I study closely.
I would not totally trash the high point but I do believe there are better ways to spend
the same amount of money or less.
Me knowing you is why I have doubts about your anecdotal findings on this issue. You typically don't do that.
What large scale studies have you done on these firearms and what was their overall % of failures?
I understand all that, and btw, people typically hate the pistols and like the carbines.not large scale studies Darth. But they are some of the usual suspects when there are malfunctions.
I am talking the carbines not the pistols. I don't really know the pistols.
80% of my time is around the long rifles and carbines and reloading / ballistics for them.
Make a guess what are some of the other usual suspects, ARs included.
Because of my dedication folks know me and come to me. I also go to others that
know certain platforms better than all of us togetehr.
I understand all that, and btw, people typically hate the pistols and like the carbines.
But, I'm still looking for data beyond "trust me."
Because people also say "trust me" a lot when they say HP is crap. And I simply cannot attest to that.
If I were the one making the claim, you'd have it.I am also looking for evidence beyond "I simply cannot attest to that" lol
good night brothers!
My post just did. It was ugly, crude and 100% reliable. Thousands down the pipe without issue. Stripping it down to give a full cleaning was a pain in the ass. That was the only issue I had with it. For the price not sure how anyone could not like them (unless they have issues I have never heard about). It was way better than the kel-tec 2k I had.Tell that to @meketrefe.
Do those things lock open on the last shot?
Hahahaha!!Hi points?
