It's the perfect bug out survival gun. That's the whole point of it taking Glock magazines and being a takedown rifle. Their 10/22 takedown is marketed as such too because it's a takedown.Did you buy this thinking it was a combat rifle that you would find yourself in the field for days at a time? If you keep it well maintained when you are home, you couldn't carry enough ammo to get it to foul from shooting it to much! And to say it is a poor design well it is really just a 9mm 10/22 the most popular rimfire if not the most popular rifle of all time! Those photo's I posted above I don't think that rifle was ever taken apart before I bought it the barrel was clean, but I was buying it because it was pre-94 (when that meant something) for a built that I wanted to do. (AR type 10/22)
So let me ask you this did you have much or any experience with firearms before you went into the Service? Since the only firearms you seem to like are of that type!
Because its gun talk on a gun forum, it's fun, I'm bored and he was asking for it.
The time it takes for Venus to make 1 complete rotation about its axis is equivalent to 243.025 Earth days. For the sake of discussion, how am I asking for it?
Recovered from a boating accident? Or, just stored under your kitchen sink?A 1977 10/22 I bought back in 2012 and it still shot!

AKs got nothing on the humble 10/22Recovered from a boating accident? Or, just stored under your kitchen sink?

2.8k actually. For a tarted up Saiga 12.Wow what a joke. 2k for those? Totally unjustified price.
Is that what you really want? Because I could totally derail your scope and gun threads. But I'm not that kind of dude. The time it takes for Venus to make 1 complete rotation about its axis is equivalent to 243.025 Earth days.

As far as my firearm experience before the military, it's was all pistols. I don't see the relevance in that question. I know plenty of people that had other guns before the military but now prefer the AR platform because it's superior.
As far as those photos above, it was probably like that because it couldn't be taken apart easily. It probably got wet out in the field and rusted all to hell because of it. Whether it still works or not is irrelevant. Who wants their gun to be in that condition?
Oh c'mon there Mr. Mopey Man. Have you read me threads? I derail and re-rail them at will myself. Is that what you really want? Because I could totally derail your scope and gun threads. But I'm not that kind of dude.
Reverse Fuddism is indeed a thing.Your limited experience to other firearms before you were in the military could show your bias, the way you put most other firearms down ( sort of like a reverse Fudd) As to the AR being superior I'm interested to how you think it is?
Now to the photos, I do not find the 10/22 action to be hard to remove (yes a phillips or hex head screwdriver to remove the stock) the action is held in with 2 roll pins! And the action is aluminum and the rest cleaned-up just fine as it was all powder residue and cleaning compound gunk not rust. And as far as who wants their gun in that condition I agree! The rest of this rifle was cherry, bore clean as a whistle. The relevance of those pic's was to your ? about rd count. These PCC9 will/should shoot along time without needing cleaning! Not that I am saying that it should not be clean on a more regular basis ( owner manuals usually say after each use!)
Like....a week in a tumbler with steel pins?Neither that was powder residue and cleaning gunk! Cleaned up just fine.

I don't own a 10/22 so I wouldn't know. As to why the AR design is superior to a Ruger Mini 14 for example or an AR9 design to this Ruger PCC, I won't comment on that. It would be funny to do so.Your limited experience to other firearms before you were in the military could show your bias, the way you put most other firearms down ( sort of like a reverse Fudd) As to the AR being superior I'm interested to how you think it is?
