Russia/US Relations Question

I'll admit to being fairly uninformed about foreign policy and politics, so I have a question that I'd like to ask those of you who know more. Why do we consider Russia our enemy today, and why does it seem that most people think it's a terrible thing if Russian/US relations improve with Trump in office?

A few simple facts to keep in mind...

Russia has significant influence with Iran and it's presence in the Middle East has grown significantly in the past 8 years thanks to Barry from Hawaii and Crooked Hillary.

Russia is the only other so called "superpower" that has the ability to cripple ISIS. They've been fighting Islamic terrorism in Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Uzbekistan for decades. They know the players better than we do actually and we'll need to at the very least share intelligence if not line up troops side by side to take out training camps and terror cells where in the past they've received safe haven.

Russia and peace in Syria are linked. No question about it. The US will have to reside itself to the fact that Assad is there to stay and even if it takes restoration of power to a dictator, peace and stability in the region are worth the effort.

Lastly...oil. Russia has gobs of petroleum and natural gas. American companies have the technology and knowhow to extract it. There alone is the greatest reason to bury the Cold War hatchet and work together.

They have what many Americans are missing. They do not put the wants of the very few above the majority. These stupid little fights that we have in the US, like what sex can use what bathroom, barely make a dent in the news over there. The Russians, they just don't care. They do not care about collateral damage in war, to them, it is part of war. They do not care if they hurt the feelings of others.

They are not our enemy, they are the enemy and the face of evil to soft, mushy Americans. The MSM will do all they can to convince the American people that they are evil.

Russia controls roughly 30% of the natural gas supply for the EU, which is a huge economic boost to them. The Islamists (Chechnya, Syrian "rebels", ISIS, etc.) threaten the pipelines with regularity, so they have a much higher interest in quashing the Islamists than we do. It is a far more immediate threat to them, and us siding with the Islamists automatically puts us on the wrong side with them. Trump I believe will correct this, which explains why the leftist whining about the hacking supporting Trump may have a grain of truth, as the Hillary crowd was openly advocating direct intervention in Syria, against the Russian supported Assad regime.

I kind of feel this way about China, too. They've been stealing our technology for years (partly our fault for moving manufacturing over there), they still treat their people like crap (though better than before), they purposely destroyed the steel industry... there are many "distasteful aspects" to them as well, yet we're still on fairly friendly terms. I would think China is more our enemy than Russia, but then again, I've already admitted to not understanding many of the intricacies of the relationship.

Russians are deeply nationalistic ( as we used to be) They are not going along with New world order program. including banking and trade and law, Their policy's of nationalism are in direct conflict with the policy's of globalism . Their leaders are actually looking out for the good of the people and not selling their country out .

As far as Putin and Syria go, Putin said something to the effect that if Hillary wins we will be going to war with the US. What he was saying is that Hillary is a fool , and by her own foolishness and ego would inadvertly start a war with Russia by stupidity and arrogance. He said this AFTER Hillary stated during one of the first debates that she would ""get tough"" and ""stand up ""to the Russians and implement a no fly zone over Syria . which would mean shooting down Russian fighters . She made that remark without ever thinking or understanding the ramifications of her actions . For what gain? A third world country? Putin could see that this women's judgment was so far outside the realm of reality that she was a serious threat to Russia. We really dodged a bullet when Hillary lost

Trump on the other hand is not a globalist ( as far as we know right now) He said that globalism was s disaster for this country and hes right . Trump can be reasoned with , His judgment is not as whacked as Hillary's and there fore the Russians see him as a person they can make a deal wit or negotiate with . Hillary was owned by Goldman sacs . She represented the good of wall st, not the American people.

That's how I see it .

Also, Trump can use a renewed Russian alliance as leverage against the Chinese, just as Nixon used China against the USSR.

When the USSR broke up there was a huge corrupt mess privatizing socialist industry. And the USA was actively involved. It's hard for us to know what exactly happened since much of it happened in secret and we never get the entire story, but the jist is that we backed the drunken Yeltsin whose cronies looted the economy. Under Putin the average Russian has a better life, a reasonable expectation of rule of law, and some national pride, thus he enjoys a high approval rating.

The other big thing going on is the EU through NATO pressuring Russia by trying to get all the surrounding little former Soviet countries to join up, which obligates us to defend them. The EU can use this to pressure Russia to keep the energy tap flowing while depriving it of investment, keeping Russia a Second World country that only exports resources. If there is anybody to attack it would be crooks in Brussels, not the beloved leader in Moscow.

Imagine getting us into WW3 because some SJW asshat like Angela Merkel is pissed because Russia doesn't allow gays to be kindergarten teachers. Seriously.

Historically Russia was a friendly country. They helped us during the Revolutionary war. They were our allies in two world wars. Russia is one of only a few European Powers that was never at war with the U.S., real war, not the war of ideologies. Russia was also a substantial trade partner from the beginning and through the years.

The very best way to handle this is to deprive them of funding. I know I sound like a fruitcake liberal but if we got ourselves off Mideastern oil - with the $5 Trillion+++ we pissed on endless war - then the Sheiks and dictators wouldn't have anything but dirty sand and a billion mouths to feed. In the meantime I'm happy that Trump and General Mattis will kill a bunch of assOOOs but in the meantime Russia will do whatever it needs to do to sell arms and maintain a Mediterranean base, keeping the Iraq-Syrian Shias on their side while we run around trying to appease both sides and satisfying no one.

I don't think it's fruitcake liberal at all for us to be independent of reliance on foreign oil. Neither from an economic standpoint, nor an environmental one.
