They already have and will again in the future. This changes nothing.
And I'll continue to call them out on it, not cheer it on.
And vote accordingly.

Then I guess you won’t be voting at all because it’s commonly done by whomever is in office. By the way, EO’s are legal powers afforded to the President in the constitution so...And I'll continue to call them out on it, not cheer it on.

I was behind a huge national shutdown and money given to employers to keep people on payroll. Then in theory we could have opened things up at a reasonable pace and people not lose all their jobs. Instead it's been a total cluster. This, I think is just Political theater.
I have asked a couple of friends about this EO, much smarter they are than me. None are fully sure if this is legal or not.
Either way, makes the Libtards look horrible. They look like complete bafoons not even acting like they support this type of assistance to the American people.
I am against all of this bailout shit. Stimulus checks, tax free periods, extended and extra unemployment. All of it. City, County and State bailouts, yeah, I am against those as well.
There will always be rainy days; both for the people as well as the local and State governments. When times are good, that is the time to stock up on needed resources. Money, food, water, supplies and the whatnot. When times are worse, as in now for many, that is what the savings and the stock of resources are for.
During these tougher times, made up or not, is the times for serious cutbacks. Cutting back on that which is not needed. In a household, that might mean things like cancelling cable of the cellphone, stopping smoking and drinking. No more going out for dinner.
In a government setting, this is the time that we should be cutting things that are extra; this list is far to long to put up here. I would start with all of the free money that we the taxpayers give to the poor and the lazy.

Not going to invest time into research just because you want to be difficult.Quote me some text where it says the Executive branch can usurp the Legislative branch's control over taxation policy.

EO's are provided to the President.
EO's powers can be enhanced in times of National Emergency.
This we all know.
A president can't raise taxes, but if the president decides not to devote executive resources to collect taxes that the legislature imposed, why not?"I'm not going to bother to defend my argument."
Game. Set.
A president can't raise taxes, but if the president decides not to devote executive resources to collect taxes that the legislature imposed, why not?
Yea, you're right."Faithfully execute the laws".
In 2012, Nancy Pelosi said a payroll tax cut would be a “boost” for American families
They already have. A lot of them.Wrong then, wrong now, and SCOTUS was way wrong on that ruling.
Bear this thread in mind when some (D) is writing EO's you disagree with.
The bailouts should be confined to the people effected by shutdown orders. This, I think is just Political theater.

It’s a political trap set by Trump.
The democrats sue to block it, what does it say about them. They sued to cut off unemployment benefits?
Win or lose in court, Trump puts the democrats in a corner.
Plus with appeals, he might be able to drag it out until November
Collection is executive but I admit that may be splitting hairsLast I checked tax policy is squarely in the legislature's court.
I wouldnt say Trump necessarily cares.Oh ... please explain.
From where I stand, I see Trump trying to help where the Democrats fantastically failed.
I think...We the People should repeal the 16th Amendment, ratify a balanced budget amendment, and the Federal .gov should live within it's means.
Throw in an amendment for term limits while we're at it.I think...We the People should repeal the 16th Amendment, ratify a balanced budget amendment, and the Federal .gov should live within it's means.

Agree only note with tax increases!
What sucks is that our republic and the rules and institutions within end up being torn down and disregarded. I know these types of tactics have been around for a long time, but I really became aware of it when Harry Reid used the nuclear option in the Senate to get around the Republicans. I can remember thinking to myself how bad an idea it was, because it would surely come around to bite them in the ass....well, it definitely did. It also help set a precedent that instead of debating things out and compromising, you just change the rules.Win or lose the court case, this will be a win for Trump.
If he wins, then he's the guy giving people that $400 extra and helping your unemployed brother in law keep his house.
If he loses, then it's the Democrats that are responsible for taking it away.
You can debate the morality and utility of buying votes like that, but the Democrats have been doing it for decades, and you can't debate the effectiveness.
You are correct to mourn the loss of the constitution, but the mistake people are making is trying to cling to it when the other side has abandoned it.What sucks is that our republic and the rules and institutions within end up being torn down and disregarded. Trump didn't suspend the tax. He just postponed it. It still will be paid.He just signed.
I hope he loses this. I first heard of the payroll tax thought months ago and posted about it in the DOW thread about what a stupid idea it was. It was then, is now. I don't support this at all.
There is a provision where it can be forgiven. Didn’t read the details but it’s in there.Trump didn't suspend the tax. He just postponed it. It still will be paid.
Excise tax on imported Chinese goods. Use that money to pay them back. And the Federal government would declare bankruptcy so fast the scientists would have to create a new measure of time.
They could tax every working person 100% of their pay and still not pay off the Federal debt in our lifetime.
It looks like congress has to agree for it to be forgiven but that trump's order means it can be deferred for now. There is a provision where it can be forgiven. Didn’t read the details but it’s in there.
