If NY is forced to go "shall issue", it'll be restricted permits. I can't imagine NY will take restrictions off.

Nope, I generally don't read the court documents. No matter how things are twisted I don't see anything good happening in this shithole. Every time something good should have come of any court case NY has figured out how to keep doinkin us anyway.

My opinion for SCOTUS...
If the prior estimates I've read or heard are correct, they are falling behind on releasing opinions. They apparently needed to release 5 a week, but have yet to do so.
36 or 39 days left until they release their ruling for NYSRPA

Anxiously awaiting this. Based on things the justices were taking about during oral arguments, I am hoping that they will make it so that a NYS permit would be valid in NYC although Im not sure how that would 2ork since NYC has established their own "home rule". I suspect at best it would force NYC to be shall issue for all NYS residents, but thats still annoying and costly. Anyway, its all wait and see and Im trying to remain optimistic.

I'm with @FrankenCub on this one. Even if SCROTUMS strikes down "may issue", little will change for the average NY wanna be pistol owner.
You can bet that the communists in the state legislature already have legislation written in advance and will submit it if the court rules "in our favor". They've already shown their willingness, even an eagerness, to disregard the constitution, both state and US, and previous court rulings, as there are no repercussions for doing so

What I'm saying is the justices care more about self-preservation than they do following the constitution.
I'm sure they remember well how the same people who are protesting outside of their homes now burnt down a significant portion of Washington DC two years ago.
