The gunman was identified as Austin Wyatt Rollins, and Cameron said there was "an indication" of a prior relationship between him and the female student, though he said that was still under investigation.

I did not read all the posts, nor did I read all of the stories. I don't need to. Same ole garbage news coverage.

Questions that I would like answers too:

Why did he do this? Was it because of love lost? Was he evil and looking to shoot up the school in general?

Where did this 17 old kid get the gun from? If from the parents, are they being charged? Being a gun owner is not limitless, there are many responsibilities. One of those is keeping the gun away form your children.

I would also like to know if this kid had issues mentally? Were the parents aware? Was the school aware? Were there tell-tale signs that this could have occurred? If so, was anything being done about these issues?

Noo, you can't blame the parents... They didn't raise their kids they passed that on to the schools and universities instead of actually taking responsibility for their offspring... I know first hand. My folks raised me but my other two brothers were more hands off and one ended up coming out of Potsdam a Marxist and the other is more normal because he saw through the bullshit at school.

LATEST: Hero Deputy Blaine Gaskill Took Out School Shooter

“School Resource Officer Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill immediately responded and engaged the shooter,” St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron said at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

“He fired at the shooter and, almost simultaneously, the shooter fired,” Sheriff Cameron said.

The sheriff identified the gunman as a student named Austin Wyatt Rollins, and said that he had opened fire with a Glock semi-automatic handgun just before 8 a.m. in Hallway F at the high school.

Police said that Rollins shot a 16-year-old female student and a 14-year-old male student before Deputy Gaskill fired the shot that stopped his rampage.



Smith told reporters there are no metal detectors in St. Mary’s County high schools, but that metal detectors have been under discussion since the Parkland shootings.

The superintendent praised Deputy Gaskill’s response to the active-shooter incident, but said they faced an uphill battle at the school.

“It looks like the SRO did exactly what the SRO was supposed to do, and we still have a tragic situation,” Smith said.

“There’s nothing more terrifying than putting more guns in our kids schools,” de Blasio told WPIX just after the attack, during which 17 people were murdered, and 14 more were wounded.
