For some reason it is propped up against the wall. Not hanging off the muzzle.

so it can cover the whole intersection.
Looking at their old faceplace pics...Construction is 8" CMU, doors appear to be steel, outswing with exposed hinges with a vertical aprox 5"x24" window in the center. So being shot at would certainly change things a bit but I’m sure a couple decent firefighters with a set of irons (flat head axe and a halligan bar) could force that door. Or even go through the lock. Or many depts carry a rabbit tool which is a like a porta power for forcing doors. I’d like to see a good picture of the door. Guessing a heavy wood or metal door in a steel frame in a cinder block wall. Tougher door to force but not impossible. Might be able to pull the lock cylinder or punch it through and manipulate the lock with a screwdriver.
First interior image released in Uvalde school shooting shows officers with more firepower than previously believed
The image raises more questions regarding the response timeline reported by police.www.kvue.com
UVALDE, Texas — On Monday, KVUE and its news partners at the Austin American-Statesman exclusively obtained surveillance footage from inside Robb Elementary School on the day of the May 24 shooting.
The footage shows that multiple officers were inside the building with rifles and at least one ballistic shield, 19 minutes after the gunman arrived. They didn't enter the classroom the shooter was inside for nearly another hour.
Yes, this investigation is going to set grounds for exactly what NOT to do during an active shooter situation. It just keeps getting worse. I had to check out of this thread for awhile because I was getting so frustrated with the details.
This is inexcusable and unforgiveable.
The police literally spent more effort trying to arrest distressed parents who wanted to do the job the police should have been doing than they did trying to prevent children from being slaughtered.
Pure disgust.
Prybar from the side could make easy entry. Wonder what kind of classroom windows they had.Looking at their old faceplace pics...Construction is 8" CMU, doors appear to be steel, outswing with exposed hinges with a vertical aprox 5"x24" window in the center.
Outswing doors are hard to batter down, but easy to force entry by attacking the lock, lock frame gap, or the hinge. Attacking a door while someone is popping rounds at you is a different story.

Exactly my thought. The type where anyone with a set of balls could have had someone cause a distraction from the hallway while another officer coordinated with someone outside the school to shoot the scumbag from the outside window into the classroom.
Yes, as long as the casings were not filled they will bend. That or hook the latch, its not like they would have strike plate shields. The windows in the school from photos on the interwebs are some kind of funky jalousie style with thin horizontal panes. In one pic the window has been opened up further for egress. I am not sure if it was by design or force the window was made larger.Prybar from the side could make easy entry. Wonder what kind of classroom windows they had.
Unreal! While looking at the schools faceplace I found this post. I cannot believe they have not taken it down
Once you accept that walls and vehicles are expendable there are many quick ways in.8" cmu, shoot the wall out and walk in; or hit them with a hammer. If the cmu was filled at the door move over 18" and start there.
Amen. 300lb person trapped on 2nd floor in a fire? No way you're getting them through a window. Chainsaw go brrrrr, and no, I don't mean you make the person into several easy to carry pieces. You cut a nice wide door, lol.Once you accept that walls and vehicles are expendable there are many quick ways in.
Fucking incredible, but doesn't surprise me, the way this went down.News: Classroom door in Uvalde school shooting was not locked, official says — OAF Nation
There was no evidence any law enforcement officer tried the classroom door to see if it was locked, Texas Public Safety Director Steven McCrawsaid at a State Senate hearing on the shooting. More details in the article.www.oafnation.com
