BREAKING: Multiple People Run Over By Box Truck In Manhattan, Reports Multiple People Also Shot

NEW YORK — Several pedestrians and bicyclists were run down by a vehicle in Lower Manhattan Tuesday. The scene is near Hudson Street and Chambers Street.

According to witnesses, a man in a box truck veered off the road and struck the victims. The unidentified suspect was later taking into custody.

There were multiple reports of gunfire in the area following the incident—–it was unclear if these reports are related.

Video showed the horrific aftermath.

Bloodbath in downtown NYC after driver shoots pedestrians from his truck
“What happened was there was a car crash… he came out of one of the cars. He had two guns. He was running around Chambers and somebody started to chase him,” said a 14-year-old Stuyvesant student. “I heard four to six gunshots – everybody starts running.”

Video of the scene shows at least two people lying limp in the street. Photos show a smashed up Home Depot rental truck.

Authorities said the incident appeared to be a case of road rage.
“A vehicle drove straight down a bicycle path heading south in Manhattan just mowing everything down,” witness Greg Ahl told 1010 WINS. “It looks like a vehicle drove down the bicycle path and ran everything over.”

Police and eye-witnesses are reporting on a New York incident that bears a resemblance to European terrorist attacks. 6 Dead, 15 Injured.
A motorist driving a rented Home Depot truck drove several blocks (reported eight) in New York City hitting pedestrians and bicyclists along a bike/pedestrian path in the city. The mayhem happened at West Street and Chambers Street at 3:15 p.m. The suspect was shot and is in police custody. –NY Post–
There are reports of multiple fatalities. The driver/shooter was shot by arriving police and is in custody; however, it is reported his carried weapons were a pellet gun and paint-ball gun. Fox News is reporting via NYPD the driver/shooter/terrorist shouted “allahu akbar” as he exited the vehicle to engage the crowd
