I just finished up the milling. I used a hand drill and dremel. I don't think the recommended drill press is really worth the trouble. Took me about 30-40 min. I think I got it right. ;)

I'm ordering the rest of the lower parts tonight and will test with a rookie's 17 once it's assembled. If this baby works, I'm tricking it out with all custom parts. :D

do yourself a favor and once you have it assembled.. (check for clear duh).. but pull and hold the trigger, and then cycle the slide, then release the trigger.. To check for proper reset, and then do it once more, but this time pull up and on the rear of the slide and hold it up before you release the trigger..

You want to make sure the striker does not release on the triggers reset..

Its an issue I had after about 200 or so rounds.. The rear rails on the V1 (Plastic rails not the metal insert that the V2 has) seem to wear very quickly and cause the striker to release on the triggers reset..

I can explain it better with photos if needed..

Trauma you described it well enough, I'll definitely do that. I'm worried about those rails also. This gun will only be fed light reloads for sure (if it works at all lol).

I'm already intrigued enough to buy the better one if/when this one goes down.

I'm on hold for now because I can't figure out why the slide doesn't fit well. It needs more work. If I am comfortable with the finished product, I plan to customize it. Otherwise I may just buy a stripped Glock lower and go from there. I don't like how the mag release feels either and don't see how that part can be fixed.

I got a slide, barrel, recoil unit, and all the lower parts off EBAY for $500.

I will say this though, USE THE RIGHT TOOLS! Use a drill press with a sliding vise, do not use the dremel to do the majority of the work.
Also the pin holes will be tight. I spoke to the cust. service guys at Poly80 and they send drill bits that are smaller than the pins as they dont want you do make the holes "bigger" than needed. So get a set of finishing files, and use the round one to ream out the hole, checkng the size as you go.

Too late lol. I used the dremel as I don't have an X/Y vise for the drill press.

I'm going to have to keep working on it. What was your experience with the mag release? Mine doesn't "snap" like my stock Glocks. It's feels like the plastic is the same so it moves funny.

Go SLOW with the dremel. I completely fucked my first one using it. As for the mag catch, its mushy. Doesnt click or push like the factory does, but it works.

My mag release was really tight and had to be fitted a bit..

I also had a problem with the slide being tight due to the rear rails.. carefully work them with a jewelers file until the slide is just about free enough... Then cycle the slide to "wear" the rails in.

Who got one and what is your out come. How dos it run,

Who got one and added it to there permit, Tell us what you did .

I spoke to the state police thru the pistol phone line for renewals and they were aware of the product, they suggested Stamp the frame with a serial number, make the amendment as other and right in "home Built" and try to get it added to the permit. There is nothing in 265 or 400 that says you cant add it to your permit

But

If you do the machine work to it ,even if it not assembled you could possibly get in trouble for having a fire arm thats not on your permit. I would also build it with the 22 cal upper. Sound like more trouble then its worth dealing with NY laws

Add the serial to the lower, add the lower to the permit, *then* finish the lower.

The only thing they could possibly get you for would be adding a non-firearm to your permit, and I don't think that's even a crime.

OK I got mine ,and my first run at it, I used my drill press with no x y vise and tried just to hold it and slide it while my daughter worked the drill press,well that did not work so well. Needless to say that one became a mangled piece of last in no time.

2 nd run at it I used a real milling machine at a friends shop and it worked perfect. the difference between a milling machine and a harbor freight drill press is night and day.

So I go it on my permit no problem.

I brought it to the range and with a 9 mm Glock top end it ran great and I put 100 rounds thru it

I only have 10 round g17 magazine and you really have to slap them into the base, I mine push them up and in as if you did not firmly insert they would drop out.

Also when you insert a new magazine you cant just pull the slide back to release it, you have to pull it back and use the slide release to bring the slide forward

The original plan was to run a advantage arms 22 cal top end on it, I had it on the frame on my work bench, I was able to cycle dummy rounds, but for some reason when I got to the range I could not install the 22 top end on it and was not able to see how it ran as a 22, But as soon as I got home and was emptying my range back I had no problem putting the 22 top end on or off. I will be returning to the range this week to see if it runs as a 22.
this is the Kit I use, as long as you use the recommend ammo it works great on a stock Glock lets see how it runs on this frame.

Over all thoughts. It was worth the 49.00 I paid for it on sale at midway. I don't think it will last long with the milled out plastic slide support in the rear. (newest version has metal instead) Its little wide at the top rear where the gun sits in your strong hand between your pointer finger and your thumb.it was hard for me to reach the magazine release. It has a different grip angle then what I am used to.

I will let you know if the 22 kit runs on it or not
