So I bought a Glock 19 holster, y'know what that means.

Well, yes and no. Yes that is what I want. But sausage fingers? I am far from the only one with this complaint. Those of us that are men with proper man size hands all seem to experience the finger rubbing issue. Perhaps for those of you with dainty, girlish hands its not an issue.

I don't know if it is the exact same issue, but I find my Ruger .357 Mag painful to shoot (at least with Magnum loads) because the knuckle of my middle finger is right under the trigger guard and rubs/hits upon recoil.

I don't have the same issue with any of my other semi-autos.

Honestly when my new 19 frame gets in if I didnt have plans to send it out for a "bunch" of work I would delete the finger grooves and do the double undercut myself

Again, whatever the foibles of the Glock are, Its serves my need for a simple, tough, low maintenance, easily serviceable, end of the world pistol. With abundant and relatively inexpensive magazines and spare parts.
I like the Glock well enough that I want to commit to improving my pistol craft with it.
I was able to focus on and correct a number of bad habits of mine, namely dipping the barrel in anticipation of recoil and focusing on the target instead of the front sight. When I bore down and focused on these things I was abke to place the shots where I wanted them. However I am still working on doing this consistently, and without considerable conscious effort.

33 rounds seems like so much more when it's out of a handgun (used to love doing magdumps out of my g23 when stationed in SC out of my 22 round extendos)

No that's when I was uneducated. Also because I had a spare glock 22 mag from when I was home in NY and bought a Keltec sub2000 but in .40, so when li moved to SC

I dont even know how to respond to that.. A firearm held together with phillips head screws.

Why is the trigger stuck back? I saw somewhere a few days ago someone else had a Glock with a trigger like that and the striker didn't 'reset'.. may want to check it.

I'm sorry, I just saw that I missed this question!
Glock triggers stay to the rear until the striker is recocked. Its actually a useful status indication.

Small little update on this. The Glock 19 is threatening to completely usurp the Shield as an EDC. Due to my truck being in the shop, again, and since I have my own wheels now I have hanging out at home while I wait. And since Friday I have been carrying the G19 in that Blackpoint holster using no more than a light button up collared shirt as a cover garment. I have been all over doing errands and what not and not even a wayward glance from anyone.
In fact I have a new neighbor and as we talked it comes out that he is a gun guy too, and he was amazed when I told him I had the Glock on my hip the whole time. It does print a little when I bend down though whereas the Shield is damn near invisible no matter what.

Its taken owning one and a actually carrying one for me to see past the lackluster ergonomics and plain appearance. It may not be flashy, it may not feel all that great in the hand but I can shoot the G19 a little better than the PPQ and more importantly I can effectively conceal it, which I could not do with the PPQ. Glocks really are more than the sum of their parts.

When we transitioned from the .38 to the Glock was a few years after I started needing reading glasses.I had never seen the sights on my Glock since I didnt carry reading glasses ever,it would have been like admitting I needed them,lol.From my first time qualifying and every year thereafter I never shot less than 100% without using sights.The 19 was even easier to point shoot than my .38.As to "may not feel all that great in the hand",like any gun,you have to get used to it before it feels right.

Nah, in a side by side comparison the difference in grip comfort between the PPQ and the 19 is dramatic, the former fits in the hand far, far better. Regardless, for me at least, grip comfort doesn't translate to better performance on target.
Of course differences in relative accuracy between these two particular guns probably are down to the sights. The PPQ is equipped with Trijicon HD sights which is a 3 dot arrangement with a U-notch in the rear and a fat front sight post with a big, bright dot on it. I equipped the Glock with Heinie Straight 8s, which is a 2 "dot over dot" arrangement with a traditional square notch in the rear and a comparatively narrow front sight post. I much prefer the Heinie sights, the sight picture is a bit finer and therefore more precise.

I cant see 'em!I've got 2 Glocks,my original from '92 has the straight grip,no finger grooves.A friend who passed away had a newer version with the finger grooves in the front of the grip.His wife gave me the gun when he died,at first I hated the feel of it,got used to it,now they both feel the same to me.
