India Walton stuns longtime incumbent in Buffalo mayoral primary. (Published 2021)
Ms. Walton, a progressive challenger running her first campaign, is on track to become the first socialist mayor of a big city in 60 years.www.nytimes.com
1) Buffalo about to go full retard?
2) Was local election rigged?
I see that as another downside.
Those tweets were single handedly responsible for keeping the broadcast news industry solvent.
Look what happened to CNN when they stopped. They really *need* him back on the platform if they want to survive.
Plus, they were more entertaining than anything to come out of Hollywood in years...
Oh, I think CNN should absolutely die. They have proven themselves an anethema to a well informed electorate.Who cares if CNN lives or dies? They can compete like any other business. Same goes for Fox News, etc.
I’m with you man I love way too close to Buffalo as well. I’m a few miles north.Hilarious. Buffalo is so screwed. If you live in the city limits move ASAP.
A few thoughts.
Buffalo is about to become "Portland east"
I live way too close to buffalo.
Unintented consequences. I didn't like brown but also didn't hate him. All things considered he was a "moderate" urban democrat by today standards. What happens next will be something to behold. The city is going to become way less attractive for suburbanites to venture into to spend money. Buffalo just got way less attractive.

I don’t think she will win the election. Even without a republican challenge, Brown will run on a separate ticket and win. The primary had a low turnout. In the election just about every republican will vote for Brown over a socialist.
Still waiting. My guess is like all irrational trump haters he will never respond. Unable to reconcile the cognitive dissonance. So, you are *happier* with Biden over Trump ?
In what possible way is he better ?
There is always write in candidate. There is no other ticket for him to run on. Too late for that.

My income rose by 10k over the 4 years of Trump's presidency, regulations impeding my professional life were rolled back. Trade deals with foreign powers, particularly China, were renegotiated along more favorable lines for American citizens. We made more progress with talks with North Korea than at any time since the Korean War. 3 major peace deals/normalized relations were brokered between Israel and its Muslim neighbors were achieved. A withdrawal from Afghanistan was in place. All under Trump, tge best present we have had in 40 years. Brainwashed leftists like you have been murdering this country for as long as I have lived. You need to be punished for it.Trying but failing, just like I predicted. I got the two big things I wanted out of election 2020:
- No more Trump. Check.
- Manchin and Sinema keeping the really left crazies from passing garbage. Check.

There is so much more I want to say but @dsdmmat wouldn't allow it. I am muzzled here, and throughout society. I cannot speak my mind, I have no voice. I have no outlet, no release. The left kneels on my neck and I am silent. Communists run amok and I am not able to have a say. And the pressure within builds and seeths with no path to the surface. The leftists rape and pillage and murder and get away with it. And as your kind revel and gloat, the cracks creep along the walls of the glass vessel holding back my pressurized rage, advancing slowly to an inevitable collapse. But I'm not allowed to talk about it.
Your kind pissed on this nation's corpse on 2020 but that's all right. As long as you got what you wanted, right?
You feeling of muzzledness is the exact reason I have been on vacation from the forum for a while. Not so much not being able to say what I really want, but the Mods protecting the feelings of Beta member personalities.
As for this horrible Primary, nothing is over until it is over.
I am kind of hoping this thing India does win in November, but, it is not a done deal. Byron Brown is on a couple lesser party lines. He should be on the ticket in November.
"No more of this"I may be an idiot, I am not sure I understand this video reference...
*My* taxes are lower with the enhanced child tax credit, maybe yours aren't, but mine are, and to me that counts, I care about my money more than yours or the money of anyone else. Remember, greed is good. Trump raised my taxes, so yeah Biden has been notably better for me there.
The reduced speed limit was all FUAC. State road. He ordered that the day after accident. Terrible accident but didn’t justify speed limit reduction.
Following tragedy, Cuomo orders Scajaquada speed limit reduced to 30 mph
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday issued an executive order for the state Department of Transportation to lower the speed limit on the Scajaquada Expressway to…news.wbfo.org
I voted in the erie county primary and I’m not sure if the ballots go in order or not but I was number 39.
I somehow doubt that your financial situation will be better under Biden than it was under Trump.

- Border wall halted. Border wall was a waste. While Biden won't put lots of boots on the border like I'd prefer to stop illegals, at least we aren't wasting money on a wall now.
- Executive order that employers can no longer legally discriminate in the workplace on the basis of sexual orientation. I'm anti discrimination across the board. Doesn't really effect me personally, but on my moral compass this is the right policy.
- Updated regulatory review ( Modernizing Regulatory Review | The White House ) Eliminates 59th minute regulation changes on executive branch regulatory actions. IE. A president can't enact a bunch of shit last minute.
- No more presidential twitter outbursts that look like they were written by an academically challenged heckler.
Those are just a few. I have a lot to criticize about Biden, outside of the border wall being halted his success on immigration has been abysmal at best. Wasn't a fan of the massive stimulus Biden did, but Trump did a shit ton there too so it's more or less a wash. Not a fan of extending the eviction moratoriums, but then again Trump started them, there never should have even been a damn moratorium and ban on landlords having use of their own damn property. Etc. There are actually some things I liked better about Trump (ie. border performance with exception of the wall, comparative 2A stance, etc.), but weighing all the + and - out on a scale I'd still prefer Biden.
When I first read this today I said to myself "Wow, I guess Buffalo may actually be able to elect a Republican mayor with that whackadoodle as the Democrat's candidate." Then I read that they didn't even bother to put anyone up. Friggin' typical of the NY Republican Party.
And this, as you all know, is coming from an elected Republican official.
A bit off topic but as we're talking about primaries, yesterday my Town had a primary for the other Town Justice position (the other judge in Town is retiring at the end of his term this year). We're a population of about 3,500 people, most of them being registered Republicans (this was the Republican Primary). We had about 250 people come out and vote in the primary. 250 out of a population of 3,500 (with probably about 2,000 of them being registered Republicans). I know voter turnout is low especially in the primaries but I still find this quite sad that civic engagement is so low.
