Same thing happened with the Ruger that is a complete copy (albeit better quality) the LCP

The magazine configuration to get 10/12 rounds in a gun that size is pretty impressive honestly. It’s a thin gun.

Off topic but why I won’t buy that bullpup. Kel-Tec could have really taken the CCW world by storm with that P11. But like always, they don’t produce enough and move on to the next project. Had they improved upon the trigger and done other things like add a rail or perhaps add a combat cut on the grip, or offered different sight configurations, that gun would have been super popular.
Instead, it died. Parts are hard to come by now. They are a real shitty company. Great for innovation but shitty on improvements. I will pass on any Kel-Tec going forward.
Truth, along with they use very cheap materials for the few things they do build and sell (weirdly they made all the KSG shotguns hahaha)
I have made it quite clear that I am about as anti-Glock as someone can be. I hate them. They are ugly, boring and I do not like to shoot them.
This is not about Glock Per say, it is about nearly all in the gun industry. I am the consumer, I want wow. I do not need wow all of the time; I would be happy every now and then.
I want some wow. I have been very good to the gun industry; I have spent so much fucking money over the past few years. Dammit! Give me something new and full of new innovation.

Few things are truly innovative, many things that are are also not very good.
The VP70 that @GOPerfect mentioned was not a very good pistol. The slide to frame interface had no embedded steel rails, the trigger was said to be like that of a staple gun's due tonthe trigger being solely responsible for cocking the striker and even with a shoulder stock the 3 round burst was not effective. It was innovative but also a failure. Then as now the Glock pistol was not particularly innovative but it is a good design and is obviously successful. I would ask why anyone thinks there is anything truly different to be had with current manufacturing or materials technology. Firearms tech has always sat at plateaus for long periods of time until a major bottleneck breakthrough occurs. Whether matchlock or wheel lock or flintlock the black powder muzzle loading era lasted centuries. Even percussion caps were an incremental improvement. We are not going to see a dramatic change in firearms tech until a quantum improvement in electrical energy storage occurs making directed energy or coil/rail guns a reality for personal weapons. And the first versions of those will not be as good as what they will eventually replace.
Short term improvements in firearms tech are along lines of incremental improvements in materials, manufacturing and optics.
Things like 3D printing and further refinements to electro optics are all we are going to see in our lifetimes. Maybe caseless ammunition.

Just curious and a friendly troll. How can you like “WOW” if you prefer a .45 ACP? That round does nothing “WOW”. It’s slow as fuck and can’t penetrate anything hard to save it’s life. There are better “WOW” calibers out there compared to the .45.
And an XDS to boot. 5+1. Nothing “WOW” there either. It’s a little better looking than a Glock, but that grip safety makes the trigger anything but “WOW”. Fiber optic sites that don’t work at night. Not “WOW”.

@Robin, I don't like ported slides either. At all in fact. That said I would overlook the ports on the P365 SAS slide since I like all the other features.
I am not sure I can overlook its checkered history though.
I am extra interested in guns like the P365 now since I can legally carry while working now since I don't leave PA anymore. However there are times where absolute discretion is crucial and I find myself making the choice between the maximum firepower Glock 19 or the nigh invisible Shield so a thin subcompact with greater capacity would neatly check both boxes.
I am not sure I can overlook its checkered history though.

Has for the barrel porting (or is the slide cuts specifically) one could get the SAS and drop in a standard or aftermarket 365 barrel
And again explain what would be new and then explain why you think these companies are just refusing to do this stuff
