Came in a little early......
Well today was a fucking suprise..
Buddy of mine had a source on a unused used Surefire ds00 tailcap, and asked if I wanted to buy it for $75, which is a solid deal.. (new they are about 108, lol on finding them, as I write this I just got an E-mail from primary arms they just got them back in stock lmfao)
So I saved $33 not counting shipping (he didn't charge me postage) for the tailcap that I wanted bad.
But this was a but large of a box for just a tailcap I thought to myself
I looked in and saw a second smaller package, hmm what could be inside the box??
No fucking way, Forward Control Designs bolt catch/release, I'm not even going to down play this as "only" the standard serrated version, because well 1st I didn't know he was sending me this, and 2 he sent it to me for free, and 3 well I (he knew) wanted/needed a FCD Bolt Catch for a small project I've been working on (hint look at previous posts over the last couple of weeks)
Alas it isn't the exact bolt catch I've been searching for from FCD but hey it's one of theirs and well damn it this will be a better place holder than some cheap Milspec bolt catch....
Now I look over and there is the plastic package that should be holding the tailcap.. but it's weird it has been wrapped all in paper towels, hmm maybe to protect it from damage (lmao it's a surefire aka bomb proof usps has nothing on the ds00)
As I unfold the tailcap pictured here with my new Hotbutton attached

No fucking way, a 2nd (used but I legit can't even care be made or whatever fuck yes) Forward Controls Design's bolt catch.. but this one, oh this one, it's dimpled and it's Forward biased.... it's exactly what I've been searching for and oh how I can't explain excited this made me
Again didn't pay for either of those he just hooked me up.. and hooked me up with one of the best tailcaps on the market for a great price

@Will555, this is how they sent my batteries. Ordered and the same time fro the same seller and that's exactly how they packaged em.

Must have paid the additional fee for the “Ultra” packaging. Comes with 20x the amount of bubble wrap.
Finished the customers upper with the DDM4 rail. 16” Ballistic Advantage Performance Series Hanson profile w/ mid-length gas system. It also has a Precision Armament AFAB muzzle device. Threw on a random Vortex Spitfire 3x on it just to get an idea of how it’ll look with an optic up top. Having an optic up top just makes it look even nicer I think.
There was no bubble wrap. Or anything ofnthe sort. Just two boxes almost completely empty other than the two tiny battery packages.
Weird, I don’t think I’ve ever had shipped like that. Where did you order it from? Did you charge the batteries and try them out in the HL-5X?
Ordered on Amazon, Streamlight listed as seller. I did install the new batteries, after a very lengthy charge, and the improvement is noticeable.
It's a good light. I'm glad you suggested it.

Now it’s time to really clean these Bulgarian steel mags. I’ve already wiped them down with some brake cleaner to get the majority off the oil and grease off of them. But they need a little bit of a scrubbing to get all the oil off.

A few weeks ago I got a call from our HR department. Apparently, I had filed for unemployment. I went to the NY State DOL website and opened a fraud report. Kept getting all the regular UI paperwork in the mail. Last week or so I got a letter that they finally had reviewed my fraud report.
Today I get the mail and there's what looks like a check from DOL. Great, they sent me an unemployment check and now I'll have to figure out how to send it back.
I open it up. Yep, a check. Several hundred dollars. Apparently there was a settlement on a Bureau of Public Works investigation for a company I worked for for a couple of weeks 9 years ago.
Oh, and got my Biden Bucks today too

The Biden Bucks was your own money. Spend it accordingly.
I’m going to be doing the RTV mod to my builds which is going to make the biggest difference in gas blowback to the face but having the additional vents/ports in the charging handle can only aid in redirecting gas as much as possible. Plus having the SD’s is cool.
