The wife really thinks about the "running into a rattle snake on a walk with the dogs" thing. I personally don't worry about it too much, but I think this might make her happy, and hey, it's a new gun :)

FWIW, we probably killed a dozen or so rattlesnakes when either gardening or walking the dog while we lived in S. Texas. Wifey had a dedicated gardening gun. J frame with snake shot.

I was also going to suggest a S&W .38 J frame For a snake gun. You’ll get much better results with .38 shot shells than you will with the derringer and she won’t have to get nearly as close to the shake to shoot it.

I'm not sure how a .38 shot shell can be better than a .410 shot shell (aside from number of rounds you can carry).

I have seen the pattern from this thing, and it spreads incredibly fast, but at any reasonable distance it would be used at the pattern is plenty dense.

We're not going to worry about a snake that's 50 feet away.

Yeah, I apparently glossed right over the 410/45LC part. The 410 shot shell should definitely get the job done when necessary. I agree there’s no reason to worry about any snake that isn’t an immediate threat . The J frame is suggested for if and when you need multiple shots in a somewhat hurry, without having to fumble around with a reload.

I used a sight pusher tool for the rear. You might be able to do it with a punch, but I wouldn't risk it. Buy one once for all handgunds. You also need a real slim profile 3/16 nut driver for the front sight. My gunsmith toolkit had one.

I just received a Geissele automatics AR 15 (SSA-E) 2 stage trigger, that i ordered. It will be my first drop in, or any trigger change, for an AR 15, that i have done. I put the upgrade trigger in my Ruger 10/22, but that was super easy. I am hoping this will be as pain free too, but i know its a completely different system.

Its not that there are any issues with any of my AR triggers, i think i just wanted to see and feel, if there will be a difference. My biggest decision will be which AR 15 to put it on. My personal AR is an Anderson piston lower with a sig sauer upper, with the usual optic and such upgrades, and i love it. Then my wife has a Troy "other", that she loves, especially since, BECAUSE SHES A WOMAN, she can "adjust" her pistol brace, and securely and safely hold the front grip. Its truly perfect for her, because any other compliant AR cannot be adjusted for her female body and smaller size, and frankly makes it more DANGEROUS for her to use. Lastly i have an M&P Sport 2, and all 3 are chambered in 5.56.

I dont know which one, out of the above 3, will be getting the Geissele trigger. I am heavily leaning towards my Anderson piston lower getting it though. I just wonder if the Troy or M&P 2 will benefit more from it. That said, i can always switch them in and out, right? I know with my ruger 10/22 i just had to pull out the full trigger assembly and replaced it with the new BX trigger assembly. I dont think the ARs are that way though, correct? When i take out the existing trigger, wont it then be in a few pieces with the springs and stuff, or does it come out as an "assembly" so to speak? I know the new trigger is just a drop in, i am not sure yet how the old one comes out.

I know i can easily find out and will, once i do it, just talking out loud here.

It's not hard. Punch out the trigger and hammer pins. You'll likely have to remove the safety also, so that usually means the pistol grip. Don't lose the spring and detent. Drop the new one in, reinstall pins, and safety. Function check it.

If you like the trigger (I'm sure you will), buy two more. And a spare just because

That sounds like i thought, easy enough. Thanks for the info brother, very appreciated. I also LOVE that you said might have to remove the PISTOL GRIP, and not grip. You are a man after my own heart.

That's with the V8. Fairly well equipped XLT
2018, 23,000 miles. 38k. The main draw here is they paid off my high milage Maxima and gave my a rate less than half of what I was paying.
