i didn't get it .. but friends did ... and after checking and fact checking and trusting the science .. meet Daisy Chops the baby calf ..
Hard to find in F150s anyway. Most of the ones I have been looking at have the 2.7 turbo. I have never owned a V8 before, I wanted to have one before they go extinct. Thing is it's so damn quiet I barely notice it at all.

I know and it’s getting worse. I didn’t know Ford even made a V8 F150 anymore.
Enough buyers option the 5.0 that Ford continues to offer it. IMO it's tge hidden gem of the F150 engine line up- I have driven both the 2.7 and 3.5 turbo V6 versions and while the 2.7 is impressively punchy and the 3.5 is powerful the 5.0 is smoother in its delivery with instant lag free response and a linear power curve. It's less frenetic and it's a simpler engine too nor is it any slouch, 395hp/400lb-ft is more than adequate for a 1/2 ton pickup. Fuel economy is similar tonthe 3.5 too.
In any case I have never owned a V8 but have always wanted too.
My 2021 Silverado is the first truck I have owned that didn’t have a V8 (6.0, 350 and 5.3) this one has a 2.7 turbo. Funny thing is it gets the same gas mileage as my 5.3 liter Silverado.
I went from a 2.3 4 cyl (135hp)- 2.4 4 cyl turbo (240hp) - 3.4 V6 (190hp) - 3.5 V6 (297hp) - 5.0 V8 (395hp). This jump up in engine size is my biggest.

I just bought one, the last one on the lot, the rest were v-6 turbo's, and I have not heard good things about them. Apparently so have many other people, the salesman said in the three days from buying and picking up he had five people that wanted it and two offered cash on the spot, yikes!!!
Probably my last truck. It has more high tech stuff than the entire country of Ghana, and I'm still learning it. Beautiful machine though!

I concur. A very relaxing ride. Just what I need to soothe my jangled nerves after 12 hours behind the wheel of a Freighliner.

Congrats @Podmonkey that is a beautiful truck. I have a 2016 f150 with the 2.7 eco boost and I couldn’t be happier with it. Talk to the dealer and see if the recall for the door latches was done already. This is a huge PITA in the winter if it hasn’t been done.
I looked into it, seems it was 2015-17 models that were affected.

Nothing today sporting related, but rather associated with a previous part of my career when I lived and worked in Texas. Can’t find many shirts around these parts with pump jacks, derricks and mud rotary heads.

We made a huge batch of vegetable stew and will start freeze drying it. Should make 8+ trays which equates to around 32+ cups of stew.

@Dunedain Ranger if I do my job, I expect a 20-30 year shelf life but it gets rotated out before that.
Here is a post I made a while back but stopped updating. that post was the basis of an article I submitted to Jim over at Survivalblog. It gets stored in Mylar bags with an O2 absorber added, sealed with an impact heat sealer and then stored in categorized storage totes.

What else would one get while traveling, but a bicycle. While killing time, found a shop who actually had what I was looking for in stock along with an extension for a stem. Wrasslin’ it into the back seat of the truck sucked.
