I will buy very little if any ammo that requires a background check and using a credit card. The combination of both being tracked and what constitutes a suspicious purchase has me saying hell no to this. People do t understand what a range session is and even some gun people do not. Last time in under an hour I shot 300 9mm and 300-400 .22lr with my son. That was taking our time. They say no refunds if you’ve used your membership. So how? As in they will ship to your door or to an FFL. I’m seriously curious. In response to this thread I reached out to TargetSports for clarification on the matter. The good news is at this point in time there is no plan to stop serving NY customers and direct shipments. They advised me their legal team is looking at options on how to address the recently enacted legislation. The bottom line is, you are still able to shop and receive product from TargetSports.
It's not really about the .gov knowing what I have, who I am, etc.Anyone powerful enough to know who I am, where I am and if I own ANY firearms or not, already knows those things. I’m not gonna run hundreds of miles away to buy fun things with cash because I’m suddenly concerned that the gob is finally admitting out loud that they’re surveilling gun owners. Operating within the system doesn’t make me a supporter of the system any more that wearing women’s boots makes @Acer-m14 a cross dresser.
It’s a trap!Meanwhile UPS says I can pick up my new rifle at one of their locations. temptation could get me.

It’s about staying off the radar and the NYSP or fed officers desk. You will see an increase in investigations over the credit card law. I’m sure with what I bought recently that would have triggered a flag. I don’t want the government showing up at my home. As far as I know I’m following all laws, but it’s getting complicated to know these days.Anyone powerful enough to know who I am, where I am and if I own ANY firearms or not, already knows those things. FIFYDefinitely should STOP giving NYS the heads up as to where ships to NY still?
So no one knows where to go to order, so they get nothing, and the state wins. Brilliant plan.Maybe we should STOP giving NYS the heads up as to where ships to NY still?
The state is well aware of that list in question. So no one knows where to go to order, so they get nothing, and the state wins. Brilliant plan.
Reddit.com/r/nyguns has a list of sites still shipping to NY - not sure if they are bigger than here but doesn't matter.
“Get it while you can, brother, get it while you can.The state is well aware of that list in question.
That list is also not exhaustive and misses dozens I could mention (but I won't), and maybe hundreds of sellers most could find by looking on their own and not relying on reddit, LI gun forum, and the fine members of this forum.
The problem is when supply gets short nationwide, NY citizens will have a much tougher search than many in this country.
If you want to order some for the best price, feel free to ship to my place.I’ll be going to Phoenix in December. If I need ammo and there’s a gun store close by I’ll buy it and ship it home. I’m flying so I can’t bring enough of it back. In a month or two after that I’ll be going to another state and I’ll be driving, I’ll do the same.
I won’t have a car to drive anywhere since my work doesn’t provide me one, but thank you for the offer. That would be a blast and your place looks amazing. I also can’t extend my stay under any circumstances because past assholes abused things. I’ve actually always wanted to spend some time in AZ so I’m sad I can’t explore much of anything except one or two days after my work meetings. If you want to order some for the best price, feel free to ship to my place.
You'll have to drive a couple hours down to pick it up, but we can burn some steaks and shoot some targets while you're down here

None as far as I know. You box it and pay the appropriate shipping charge for ORM-D and you’re GTG.What are the laws/regs for shipping ammo to yourself?
Looks like ORM-D is not a thing anymore....None as far as I know. You box it and pay the appropriate shipping charge for ORM-D and you’re GTG.
UPS says ORM-D is no longer required as of 1/1/2021, so with the new CCIA law is it still legal to ship ammo to yourself? If online sales are not shipping direct-to-door any more, I think shipping to yourself from out of state might be risky. Involving a third party (shipper) might invoke an interstate commerce issue. I’m not finding anything saying that it’s still allowed. I’m gonna email my Senator.None as far as I know. You box it and pay the appropriate shipping charge for ORM-D and you’re GTG.
Last couple UPS shipments of ammo can trays (which lately seem to be back ordered or purchase quantity limited at most places) and M2A1 boxes got stolen from UPS truck or UPS distribution center. UPS theft is another "key consideration"How To Ship Ammunition | UPS - United States

Laws don’t tell you what you can do only what you can not do. It’s a NYS law saying if you’re buying or transferring ammunition in NYS then you need a background check. If I buy the ammo in AZ then I own it and there is no purchase or transfer taking place in NYS. When you buy ammo from company A and have it shipped through UPS when your item is in UPS’s possession they are not taking ownership of it so there is also no transfer taking place. Pretty hard to fly back with a case of ammunition on a plane. I’m not sure that would go too well. It says it is allowed so maybe it would be fine. Anyone ever do it? Says it needs to be declared and boxed in fiber(cardboard) containers and that’s all.Just have it shipped out of state to your 'vacation spot' and go pick it up....
