After listening to what scotus said to the second circuit I think scotus is watching this closely and is pissed they are fucking with us. If what scotus said is true we will have relief sooner than we think, I think??

At this point GOA, FPC, etc., should be returning to the S.C. and stating that the 2nd has decided NOT to rule on this quickly.
9 weeks...63 days...this is unacceptable when ONE DAY of having a right infringed is too much.
NYS, as well as each and every politicians that voted for this out of their own pockets, should have to pay a hefty fine for EVERY DAY our rights are infringed. These fines should be payable to the people of New York State.

I think they are slow walking it as much as they think they can get away with it . If 3/20 is the hearing date, I wouldn’t expect the opinion/decision until late summer.

They aren’t going to send it back down unless they can give new instructions to the judge in how the decision is to be made—they will get bitch slapped if they do that. They are more likely to attempt to tailor the decision to keep as much stuff as they can and pass SCOTUS muster— they don’t want to have all gun control struck down. They want to keep as many sensitive places as they can or at least explain to NYS how to make a gun control law that might stand up.
What do they care? It's not like anything will happen to them.
When was the last time the S.C. said "you suck" and had a lower court fired?
They'll send it down just like the 9th is doing, and tell the district judge to "follow the Bruen decision" even though he already did, and demand that the district court make an intensive investigation, long wait times while "qualified historians are located for the State", and whatever other delay tactics they think they can manage.
And even if the lower court sends it right back up to them, they'll still delay, like they are delaying right now.
It's time to bypass all that bullshit and ask the S.C. to step in again, citing the delay tactics being exhibited here and around the country. once the S.C. says "that law is crap" we can completely ignore the 2nd.

Yea someone told me something about SCOTUS requiring 60 days to appeal or some such thing and the 3/20 date falls just outside of that. So basically they are dragging it out as long as they can, about 7 days past the SCOTUS "requirement", and they probably know that SCOTUS won't give them a hard time by going over the deadline by "only" 7 days. Not exactly sure about any of this, just what I heard.

It means if they do so, SCOTUS will completely reverse their ruling, and publicly embarrass them in their opinion, and not give the appeals court any sway or influence over the case law. Publicly told they ignored SCOTUS and the constitution. That’s a big deal for a judge and any chance for promotion. And the court can have those particular judges on that panel from hearing similar cases again.

I know they gave a stay until the appeal but this
panel hearing the appeal is 2 Republican appointees to one democrat. They were bassically just given cover by the Supreme Court to do the right thing. I’m hopeful they will uphold the district courts ruling.

Unfortunately if the 3 judge panel upholds the district courts ruling, the state will request the case to be heard from an en banque panel which is all the judges from the 2nd circuit. The state will continue the seemingly endless BS to keep the CCIA in effect for as long as humanly possible....which we all know could be years....
Hate to break it to everyone but unless the Supreme Court decrees that the whole country become constitutional carry nothing will ever change in NYS. The politicians in this state know they can get away with anything as they have been infringing on residents rights since 1911 and with every new infringement gun owners run to comply. I hope I am wrong but history tells me I am not.

Definition of a hero in NYS today, is sure different than it use to be.
I don`t play hero for nobody but my own family and friends. The right thing to do would have for the guy with the gun, to get the hell out of there as fast as possible. Let the blood of the victims fall on Hochuls ass. Now the HERO will be put thru the wringer, bet on it, Hochul ain`t gonna let this fly.

That is why no matter what, I always place myself in a restaurant (and other places) knowing where all the exits are. I don't let myself get cornered nor do I sit with my back facing the door. I also keep my situational awareness up at all times no matter where I'm at.

This is where I’m at given the climate here in NYS. I told my dad this and he said you can’t give up on people. I said it’s so bad I could see someone struggling shoveling on my street and I’ll have to walk right by because I’m armed if I leave my house. Who knows if they or someone else will see it while I’m helping them and I get arrested. I said nope I’m not doing it anymore for people I don’t know.
