I agree with everything except Bruen being the worst thing that happened. It will take some time to sort out so maybe you’re right there but maybe you’re not. We need to hold the senate and the Supreme Court and good things will come.

Here's a juicy little tidbit....just called Walmart Corporate....asked about their policy regarding concealed carry in their stores...amazingly the girl couldn't find anything....put me on hold to speak with her supervisors....then she informed me that their policy will be changing in states with legal open carry as a result of the mass shootings....very very vague indeed. I believe she was talking about prohibiting open carry in those states. I know all our local Walmart already have signs prohibiting OPEN CARRY which I interpret as concealed carry is allowed. Heres the most recent piece of information I can find listed online...personally, I interpret that as express consent as well..... Screenshot_20230128-093733_Chrome.jpg

I like where you're coming from. I completely agree with your mindset on the principles. However, you can't possibly ignore the risks involved. At this point we're no different than the people in the North helping runaway slaves escape to freedom via the Underground Railroad. We're doing what is right, but that doesn't make it legal. There are plenty of bad cops out there who will ignore what is right and enforce what is "law". How many blacks were arrested for using white drinking fountains or sitting in white only areas in the 60's? Being right doesn't make you immune from having your civil rights violated by the government and being prosecuted. They've already been allowed to pass the law and they've then been allowed to enforce it by the courts.
To say you don't expect to get in a jam or only break one at a time is to over simplify it. You cannot conceive of all of the possible scenarios that may get you or I into a jam. What will your employer, neighbors, family, friends think when they hear of your felony weapons charge arrest? How much money will it cost you to appeal it 4,5,6 times until you get it up to a high enough court who will recognize Bruen? How many years will that take?

I agree and I’ve also said this on here. The signs say we prefer you not to open carry but now they maybe banning it in there stores. I’m not sure what open carrying of a pistol and mass shootings have to do with each other but I get it could scare customers.

I was pretty surprised she couldn't find anything on her computer regarding legal concealed carry and had to ask her supervisor which basically amounted to hearsay and/or speculation....actually she did find that EMPLOYEES cannot concealed carry while working....

Permission signs on your home door could be a dangerous game to be playing. No signs on my doors, ever. To me, that`s just letting people know you might have guns in your home if you`re giving people permission to come to your home with guns. A criminal may see this as an opportunity.

Another thought i had, what if you end up in court over shooting an armed intruder. The DA may find it handy for them to say that you were ok with the intruder coming onto your property in the first place by having a "permission sign" on your door. Its very possible, in NY

What risk? Risk is nit assumed when exercising a RIGHT! The SCOTUS has made it clear on numerous rulings, to Enjoy your Right(s), you must exercise them... It is not a given, nor is IT given! Having a firearm sitting at home locked and unusable in a safe, is NOT exercising that Right, but behaving in a manner prescribed by those who would wish to remove your Rights. Again, the one Right in the BOR which had explicit instruction, SHALL NOT BE INFRNGED, anything else is just bullshit!



Back to Risk... I don't see Risk, because I don't expect to get in a jam. Most if not all the cases you will encounter or read about will be mostly from law breakers having some serious issues with the law AND the firearm being thrown in. Break only one at a time, here, a 2A law violation, strictly on it's own merits and typically it will never get to a courtroom. Why? Because the State will never allow precedent to be established! So live a clean life, stay away from afterhours joints and do what you want, live as you will, and stop worrying about the Big Bad Wolf that never comes!

This is 100% where I have been for a long time. I know what the Bruen ruling meant. I have not changed a thing since before september except I bought a new carry pistol. I intend to live my life as I have morally knowing what I am doing is right. How many that are worried have been jammed up on this forum? I am guessing zero. I would also guess that most on this forum have had armed interactions with police and nothing evil transpired. Our political talking heads just want everyone to scared to exercise their rights. Be smart just as you always have and carry on. You probably have better odds of needing your pistol sometime in your life than you do getting jammed up carrying in a store. It is my duty as a citizen of the USA to not follow unconstitutional laws. If I am the test case so be it. I will not back down and I will not plea down anything. I refuse to live my life in fear of some bureaucrats in albany who just want a scared flock of voters. I follow this thread just to keep up on what is happening, not to live my life by it.

Just watch, NY will be in the limelight again. These states are taking turns being in the limelight. Mean while crime is running rampant.

You don't need to be the oracle of wizardry to figure this crap out anymore. This is their way of pleasing the masses, and confusing people, which can potentially turn law abiding people into a felon quickly.

Ain't fooling me, as ever since the CCIA got put into place, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. While I had a glimmer of hope, in the back of mind I laughed at the Bruen decision. I also notice that whenever these people talk, they don't even mention the old Sullivan Act that has been around for a long time (est. 1911). Its just a new Sullivan Act mixed with the Safe Act.
