IMO the anti spalling is not that important if you have a quality carrier. It won't hurt but I don't think it will change things much. Again, if you have a quality carrier. Also remember that it adds thinkness and weight.
As this is presumably not being worn every day, I would look at

I currently have a set of level 3 steel plates with full anti fragmentation coating from ar500.com. I'm satisfied.
But,
The next kit I buy will have a set of level 4 plates like these and a decent $100ish dollar carrier.

A little frustrated on this topic. My carrier has been delayed a lot..... now February. Good new is the plates should be inbound in the next couple weeks.
I don't blame you for being frustrated.
I placed the order 2 months ago with the ETA mid October. If I knew it would have been 6 months I would have spent the extra $50 and bought it from ebay and had it that same week.

Can't say I'm worried so to speak. I have been weight training most of my life and do about 4-6 hours of biking a week to keep me in good condition. I also have nothing to compare things to since armor is new to me. Just figured if I can save a pound or so why not if the cost doesn't go up demonstratively in doing so. But hesco is like top tier. May i also suggest checking out Hescos "special threat" plates
