When I hear the reports in western media from random Ukrainian officials more or less all saying the same "we're winning, we're hitting them so hard, we just need more weapons" it's exactly the type of rhetoric I would expect someone who is losing and doesn't want to panic the troops to say.

Ukraine has the same strategy that the North Vietnamese and Taliban had. Make the cost of victory for your superior opponent too high.

I never understood this argument. If Russia did nothing, they would have NATO on their 1000 km border in the Don bass. If they take the Ukraine they have NATO on their 1000 km border in Poland. They will have gained 1000 km of distance east to west from the previous Russian border creating a fairly large buffer zone. They have NATO on their border here, or they have NATO on their border there . Seems like a no brainier to me.

Lysychansk has fallen, the Russians have crossed the Donesk river in multiple places, an attack on Sloviansk Has Already begun.

The fact that Russians have crossed in multiple areas means the Ukrainian artillery was either out of range or out of ammo

After Russians seize Sloviansk, the battle field is wide open farm lands which will lend itself to rapid manuevre warfare. If my estimates of Ukraine armor are correct, the following battles will be much more rapid and encirclement's will be everywhere. I personally dont believe the Ukis have the armor resources to conduct much manuevre warfare in central Ukraine. I believe they are going to collaspe soon after the fall of Sloviansk .

Of course CNN will say the Ukrainians are pushing or advancing toward Kiev.
