Sooner or later something would have come up that is more consequential to American public than who is in control of Avdeevka. Suprisingly it took that long. Driving to matches today and yesterday I listened to the radio, there wasn't a word about Ukraine in hours of news cycle. Also, the war to the last Ukranian to kill as many Russians is not something to rally around.

I think they've both kicked the living shit out of each other and Ukraine ran out of men first, which everyone with a brain realized would happen. Do you think Russia is really going to miss their 100,000 KIA Wagner prisoner conscripts? Nope. They just did addition by subtraction. They are better off as a country deleting them from their population, no one is Russia is shedding a tear for the dead prisoners.
It's a savage war of attrition. I don't see how it's possible combined casualties are not in 7 digits.

I've mentioned this guy before. Great on economics and demographics, not as solid when it comes to politics (IMO). He's stated a couple of things in the past that could only have come from the intelligence agencies. In the clip below at the 11:00 minute mark he talks about how we are able to know where Putin is 24/7 and can hack his conversations in underground rooms with no electronics allowed. My reactions are:
a) how could this possibly be true
b) if it is true why on earth would the CIA let this guy talk about it in a public forum
He claims that Putin stopped the nuclear weapon saber rattling when the American ambassador explained we knew where he was at all times and what was said in his meetings prior to the invasion of ukraine. Like I said it sounds too fanciful to me. YMMV.
