And remember, W*M is kind of a monopoly, so keep that in mind...@Willjr75
Should Walmart be able to block certain internet traffic as they see fit? Or, should they have to allow everything through, irregardless of what it is?

Sounds like fining people for not buying something government wants them to have. That would never happen...... oh, wait...Do you really think that letting the government dictate what services are provided by a business is a good thing? Do you see where this could lead?
They aren't a monopoly.@Willjr75

No they aren't. You don't have to use their internet. But at home....And remember, W*M is kind of a monopoly, so keep that in mind...
You also don't have to use the Internet. No they aren't. You don't have to use their internet. But at home....
You aren't getting it. Some internet companies in areas are the only thing going. Now what happens when there aren't other alternatives? What happens when they all do it? What happens when every single new site is CNN because that's the only news site every provider will only allow you to view?Jesus fucking Christ. Neither is Spectrum. People have options, they just don't use them.
No they aren't. You don't have to use their internet. But at home....
Not all I'm telling you. Celt just provided an example of satellite being the only option where his parents live. And the vast majority of people have access to HughesNet or another provider, just like people can go to Target.

It didn't. They weren't talking about that back then. There weren't plans for internet service for just Facebook back then. They weren't blocking sites back then. Then they started blocking sites. Look at Dayten's post.Remind me when this happened before NN?
That's fine. If they want to pay they can pay. That isn't the issue. If you look at my posts, I said that they can charge for megabytes used or speed. You didn't respond to my questions about a stock trading company or a hospital paying for priority traffic.
Ok. Ignore my previous posts about if they all do it. There's only 2 or 3 to my knowledge. And there are multiple satellite providers.
You can choose to stay uninformed and vote based on party lines. Get you information from the NY times then. You also don't have to use the Internet.

And if you read my other posts, I said that you should be able to have access to anything even if dialup speeds is all you can afford.
Except they already do. You can face fines for not getting licensed to transmit.
You could do that, or you could do what over 1/4 of the us population, those without any Internet whatsoever, do and...not use it.You can choose to stay uninformed and vote based on party lines. Get you information from the NY times then.

How in the world do they live?

Well, Obummer thought those were a necessity to life...Cell phones?

Also ignorant, redneck, and deplorable perhaps?Uninformed.
It's not that. Do you know how much we've learned here on this very forum about politics that people take the time to comb over from various independent news outlets? Before the internet, I was a sheep like everyone else. I thought guns were bad. I thought buckshot lifted a man off his feet. I thought a .38 Special was weak along with a 9mm. I thought AR's were assault weapons. I thought everything the newspapers and CBS news fed to me was correct.that was my point,
seriously, what does all this bullshit boil down to ~~~~ COST. what is the bottom line complaint? COST. It seems everyone is worried your internet provider is going to raise rates and those that pay a premium will get a faster line and the rest of you will be back on dial-up.
The solution, stop using the freak'n thing. But! everyone is addicted to electronics and computers. Me, Im old school. I can live comfortably without any of this shit. My 31-year-old son, will probably die within hours if he can't get on FB.
No.Also ignorant, redneck, and deplorable perhaps?
CB's are unlicensed. I learned that on the internet along with how to program a ham radio to listen in on public safety frequencies.LOL, ya when was the last time you heard of anyone getting Finded for using a CB radio <never> Maybe for a Ham radio or even possibly for a VFH. But never for a CB. When we bought our boat in '95 we got a Station license for our Marine VFH, its suppose to be renewed every three years (I think) we never renewed it and we had the boat for 9 years.
Ya, sorry I ain't to worried about getting a ticket for a CB
That I don't agree with. But if it's one or the other, I'd rather have the full internet.NN would specifically prohibit paying for priority though. The doctor's surgery data would flow at the same rate and be bottlenecked just like Netflix traffic.
