You aren't getting it. Some internet companies in areas are the only thing going. Now what happens when there aren't other alternatives? What happens when they all do it? What happens when every single new site is CNN because that's the only news site every provider will only allow you to view?
And the vast majority of people have access to HughesNet or another provider, just like people can go to Target.

That's fine. If they want to pay they can pay. That isn't the issue. If you look at my posts, I said that they can charge for megabytes used or speed.
And if you read my other posts, I said that you should be able to have access to anything even if dialup speeds is all you can afford.

NN would specifically prohibit paying for priority though. The doctor's surgery data would flow at the same rate and be bottlenecked just like Netflix traffic.

LOL, ya when was the last time you heard of anyone getting Finded for using a CB radio <never> Maybe for a Ham radio or even possibly for a VFH. But never for a CB. When we bought our boat in '95 we got a Station license for our Marine VFH, its suppose to be renewed every three years (I think) we never renewed it and we had the boat for 9 years.

seriously, what does all this bullshit boil down to ~~~~ COST. what is the bottom line complaint? COST. It seems everyone is worried your internet provider is going to raise rates and those that pay a premium will get a faster line and the rest of you will be back on dial-up.
The solution, stop using the freak'n thing. But! everyone is addicted to electronics and computers. Me, Im old school. I can live comfortably without any of this shit. My 31-year-old son, will probably die within hours if he can't get on FB.

It's not that. Do you know how much we've learned here on this very forum about politics that people take the time to comb over from various independent news outlets? Before the internet, I was a sheep like everyone else. I thought guns were bad. I thought buckshot lifted a man off his feet. I thought a .38 Special was weak along with a 9mm. I thought AR's were assault weapons. I thought everything the newspapers and CBS news fed to me was correct.
