Meh...It looks as though the grip is a permanent part of the receiver (which I understand the reasoning) but it'd be nice to be able to put a pistol grip on it if you were to get out of NY. I fear that @Eddie Gunks and @BuffNiag are right though.

IMO that is a thumb hole stock just like the latest thordsen. Yes I know it has a paper thin slit. It looks and functions like a thumb hole.

I am sure it shoots the same or better than any other.
Even for people with large hands / fingers might be more adequate than standard pistol grips where the length to the trigger is too short
w/o some sort of customization anyway.
They should install a barrel though.

Don't mean to insult but if you aren't absolutely certain of this, you haven't been paying attention. They've been openly laying the ground work and attempting to sway public opinion in this direction since, at least, Parkland. Demand all semi-autos, 'compromise' for detachable mag semi-autos.

I know they are coming after semi autos @ManrisFrack, that's why I wrote what I wrote. Washington state has already basically done it and I think so much of what comes next, depends on how the challenges against that law go. But the Heller decision should also come into effect as semi auto's with detachable mags are very much in common use. So any ban would have to end up infront of the Supreme Court. I know, I know AWB's haven't yet and that's bull shit but a ban on all semi auto's even with a detachable mag compromise, would be too far reaching.

I think a lot of our problems are the result of giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking that they won't/can't push our society so far from freedom that our children will have no true concept of it.

Yoir blithe comment is undermined by the fact the very manufacturer of these products has put considerable effort into having the government confirm they do not run afoul of any laws (as yet no conclusion on the gen 3).

So if the stock is made as two separate pieces there is a legal difference between that and if it is molded as one and then cut? Rhetorical question; there is nothing in any law that says that makes a difference.
I also challenge anybody here to identify in any state law exactly what a thumbhole stock is (e.g hole size, what percent of the hole perimiter must be removed to keep it from being a thumbhole, etc.) and how 1) this doesn’t meet that definition and 2) Precisely what precludes it meeting that definition.
Lots of guessing and hoping. What if the gap was 1/32”? Still GTG? What if while shouldered the weight of the gun actually causes the buffer tube to gently touch the stock? Thumbhole now after all?
