This was part of the point I was trying to make a few pages ago. Here we have multiple pages of argument as to whether NY State is the only F'd up state. It is not. The problem is that this poor clown (the driver) is gonna get jacked up on this. I guess according to some here he will get what he deserves (because he doesn't spend countless hours mapping out the laws on all the states and localities that he happens to travel through or piss in (when he stops to take a break). It's incredible to me that a) any of us here thinks this is acceptable and b) people post to defend it.Whether one state or two has permit to possess is not the point anyway. The point is if the motorist did not flat out admit to having a pistol without being asked or had it visible, then the cop who pulled him over is an anti 2A "Jackboot" who illegally asked him if he had one.
That cannot be disputed.
Double edged swords are illegal too yet NY cops aren't looking for them.
Sorry dinner was on the table. What I miss ?
Not much. I think the main combatants are playing rope-a-dope.
As I did toololRight. But you can carry in PA in a vehicle with no permit. I did, on my way to get my CCW for PA.
In most states, it would result in a ticket...nothing more.
2 things. NY is the only state that requires a permit to possess. The other states mentioned require a permit to purchase but not too possess.
As far as who's fault this is.... It's the carrier's fault for not checking the laws. That is certain with no doubt. But you also have to blame the cop for looking for it.
There are cops out there who will not search a magazine for the eleventh round unless an arrest was made for something else and they have no choice but to. In this case, unless the guy admitted to having the pistol without being asked, the cop was looking for it and is against the 2A in my book.
If no other crimes where committed and the motorist made no admission without being asked that he had a pistol, the cop should have written the traffic summons and sent the guy on his way.
Tell me I'm wrong.
when i am right i am right@Trauma47645 is gonna definitely like this post!

But you weren't! You were wrong in what you posted.
nothing and everything at the sametimeReally what does this possession BS have to do with the OP??????????
Did you read what you just said!!!!!!
This is exactly why national reciprocity is needed. The handgun laws are too vast for a common person to keep track of. Sure, people like us are pretty informed because we keep up on things, but most people are busy living their lives and not as passionate about the 2a as we are.
Sounds like he screwed up with the trailer. He was probably just following a gps. Ive gone on a road where trailers are not permitted myself years ago. I was out of state towing a motorcycle, and i had no idea until i got pulled over. And the cop let me go.
Its absurd that its illegal for someone that is legal in their home state to own a handgun get arrested in another state.
LMAO.. you say it like you believe that Fuhrer Cuomo is actually going to recognize it.Exactly! But we don't have reciprocity yet!!
*tag* your in!A tagteam match !
Not at all! Even if it withstands Court challenges, NY will try to put up road blocks!LMAO.. you say it like you believe that Fuhrer Cuomo is actually going to recognize it.
I'm just a commentator. We all have a job to do here.*tag* your in!
