That's mostly true. I was Military Police, US Army. In my briefcase was a copy of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (for service members-any branch, on or off post), a copy of NYS Motor Vehicle and Traffic Law (for civilians on post), a copy of the NYS Penal Law (for civilians on post). Plus, two different traffic violation ticket books, one for civilians on post, one for service members on post. Military offenses are usually decided by your commanding officer, and others depending on severity. Civilians usually held and released to civilian authorities for disposition. On the other hand, as a US citizen, I was given every reasonable opportunity to vote.
There is no way that charging him with 3rd degree felony wouldn't have been pled down into a misdemeanor.

That didn't stop Newtown or Columbine. People dedicated to doing bad things aren't going to be deterred by an age limit. They'll steal guns from a family member or buy them with no background check.
You live in NY. It doesn't matter who you vote for. The Democrat is going to take the state's electoral votes. Every single person that voted for any third party could have voted for Trump and he still would have lost NY by 20 points.
Big difference between obtaining the tools of the trade illegally and going to the local gun shop and buying them over the counter.

Funny. I remember some dude named Darthgamer on another forum who reversed his stance on gun laws as he got older. If I remember correctly, when he was younger, he had no issues with the permitting process and complied with the 1st AWB.
If that dude ever runs for office, don't vote for him. He's full of shit. There's no reversing.

Of course there's a big difference. I still contend that it won't stop someone intent on shooting up a school though. If they're willing to gun down innocent children, they're willing to go steal a gun from Uncle Bill or go down to the crack dealer on the corner and buy one out of the trunk of a car.

I wonder how many folks who are somewhat giddy with the thought of raising the age limit to appease those who want to take away our rights, so it won't "get worse", would say the same thing if they were under the age of 21? How is that different than a hunter who doesn't own an AR not caring about laws to ban AR's because it doesn't affect them?

Ignore charging him for carrying a knife on school grounds so we can give misguided youths a chance and get more federal and state funding? Check.
Ignore multiple calls to local authorities by many to go investigate Cruz due to his behavior? Check.
Ignore calls to the FBI telling them he threatened to become a school shooter? Check.
Make new laws, and gun owners agreeing to them, to raise the minimum age of law abiding citizens to own a firearm as well as who knows what else will be heading our way so we can be considered "reasonable?" Check.

100%, I doubt much is going to come out of any of this at the end of the day, and many trump haters are laughing at gun owners and taunting us about our choice to vote for him. really, what choice did we have? hitlery or trump, thats a no brainer, we had to take a chance on him. he campaigned on supporting the 2a, national reciprocity, the wall, and Americans first. we have to hold him to it.
and as of this morning he is backtracking his statements. alot of people are thinking he is just playing "4D" chess with the left. if he is, i still don't support or agree with the comments he is making. play chess another way, but this is far to serious to treat as a game.

in fairness, no one called him their messiah, but I get your point. i remember the discussions before the election too, and we all were hopeful that we would get suppressors and reciprocity considering we would have a "republican" president and congress. there is nothing wrong with being hopeful, especially when faced with the alternative of hitlery.
even if someone is a 1 issue voter (which i see nothing wrong with if thats what they feel), we had trump saying he would strengthen the 2a and hitlery who would further restrict it, we simply had to vote for Trump and take our chances.
Now, if any of this crap ends up passing with Trumps support, and a gun owner says in good conscience that its a good thing or they support his decision, then they are not a true 2a supporter.

...and your correct. But, if the "bowl of fruits and nuts" steals the weapon (not something I'm celebrating or advocating for by the way) it takes some of the HEAT off us especially with the "sitting on the fence " crowd.

why should we accept any FUTHER infringements. we, as 2a supporters have never had anything extra given to us. every time there is a so called compromise its US giving up MORE of our rights.
a compromise means we get something in return. when was the last time we got something in return (that wasnt already taken from us).
