Have family or trust worthy friends that live in a more gun friendly county?
Transfer your permit and DL there.

I really doubt and i mean REALLY doubt you will be able to obtain FC in Westchester.

I think the administration figures if they didn't do anything stupid by now they never will.

I just went through this. Submitted my amendment in the middle of April and received a denial around the middle of July. I own property, own a business, I'm a NRA Pistol Instructor, RSO and have taken the NRA classes as well as many others. Didn't mean a damn thing. Still denied.

My advice is different from everyone else. I say try it, they really have no legitimate reason to deny your request. I'm resubmitting my amendment again in a few months and if denied again I will wait a few months and send it again.

As soon as my new pistol is added I'm going to apply for full carry. I'm going to tell them I don't feel safe leaving all 3 at home together.

Exactly right, I am an NRA certified pistol instructor and I have multiple certifications from other classes that cover Justified use of deadly physical force and it makes no difference. Even out of state non-resident unrestricted permits don't help either. Westchester just does not want you to unless you're lucky and you catch judge Murphy on a good day.

No , I had Sportsman already at that point. And I had actually tried two separate times and was denied. I was told i did not demonstrate a need greater than an average citizen to carry a gun, and he cited a cpurt case that ruled a person needs to provide "good cause".

Well I guess that's not quite fair to say catching him on a good day. I know judge Murphy was basically the only judge that would issue unrestricted carry in Westchester. But it was not a given that if you got him you would get it. Because not everybody would get it even if he was the reviewing judge.

I tried 3 times on or about 2009-2013.
The third time i really thought i had it in the bag. I ended very disappointed.
With that said. Just like other members have stated go for it you have little to lose.

You have to sit down and really think deep about why you want to carry. If it's for self defense, the day that you have to use it and you don't have it, you'll regret not ever carrying it. Especially if it results in the death of a loved one.

One has to put their priorities in order. Is risking their prized collection worth their family's life? Even if it's just you and your family isn't with you, your permanent absence if God forbid something happens to you will affect your family. One has to think about that.

There are many ways to conceal a firearm where it is totally undetectable to the naked eye.

That's my opinion for those who cannot get an unrestricted.
