Westchester pistol permit

If you have to buy a pistol and can’t find your preferred brands/models, get a .22LR semi auto. Not as expensive, fun to shoot, good for training. i haven’t been looking so I’m assuming you can find these in stock. Also, try Collector’s in Hopewell Junction for used pistols. I always recommend new but if you have to have something for your permit application, used is an option.

Anybody who had their interview/fingerprinting in July or August or September see any movement in the process yet? I had mine August 20 and they still haven't even cashed my money order yet, I thought that would be the first thing they do. No calls to any references yet either.

I'm on the same timeline. The detective who did my interview said he'd be done with his investigation in 2 weeks but not to expect it to be approved for a minimum of 6 months. He said the judges were really backed up in general with casework from the courts being closed and this is not a priority. None of my references have been contacted.

minimum 6 months? yikes [my interview and application submission was on aug 18]

at this rate i would be closing on my new home in PA by mid november, apply for PA permit, get one and potentially still wont get westchester permit.

I used Moneygram and on the stub you keep there is a website that you can check the status of whether it was cashed.

thanks. i have mail @ post office from county clerk 'timothy c idoni', the letter is slightly transparent, could barely make it out, something like 'pistol'..

not sure what this is. guess have to wait until afternoon and find out.

They take personal checks. That's what I've always used.

Go to the USPS website and sign up for "informed delivery".
Everyday around 8 A.M. you will get an e-mail with images of your mail for that day.
It will also tell you if you have any packages coming from USPS.

How did you find out you had this mail at the post office and get a picture of it? That seems like a good sign!

i subscribe to post office, any mails you get.
They physically scan all mails and send pictures of all mails in mail digest for that day.
In that email and you can see what mail are you getting either today or tomorrow.
which is kind of nice to know what mail you are getting ahead of time.

will do. seriously doubt it, as none of the my references have been contacted and its only been 7 weeks since i submitted application.

Got my permit approval letter today. Took approximately 8 weeks [52 days].

Now i have to make an appointment to pick up the permit.

That is awesome, congrats! Does the letter say you really have to make an appointment to pick it up? I thought you could just go in anytime after you got letter.

I got my approval letter today too! 50 days from interview. Of course it is a 3 day weekend and cant pick up until tuesday but i am pretty surprised how quickly it came.

Went to licensing division (same place). Picked up my voucher and permit ID card. Drove to store and picked up pistol

permit approved for target & hunting (printed on card)
