Like I said, I haven't taken any training, just do what is comfortable and isn't showing everyone that I'm carrying. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny. When I first started carrying, I carried 4:00 iwb, it wasn't uncomfortable, but it was noticeable that I was carrying more than when I carry at 6 now. I can carry w/ normal shirts now that are pretty form-fitting (not bro tight) and don't look baggy and I don't print at all. At 4:00 I definitely print a lot more.
I should take a class just to go over my personal preferences and see what an instructor says. I get the whole arm pinning thing as a reason not to carry, and maybe the whole "if I fall" thing, so that's why I'll ask the instructor. Until then, I'll keep home training with this until I am told that it is wrong. Thanks for the heads up though.
Yesterday I was shooting sporting clays with the friend that I talked about earlier that carries sob. She was wearing a tight tshirt and while walking behind her I couldn’t find her pistol. I figured she left it in her trunk. After we went to the pistol ranges and sure enough she pulled her M&P out from 5:30 spot.
While we ran a few drills I watched closely at her draw and reholster. Draw was slower than mine due to the long reach and body twist she had to do but not bad at all. Reholster she fumbled looking for the right spot and angle but she even commented about there was no hurry.
So it all comes down to what you like and make sure you train with it. Don’t be afraid to try other spots.
Who knows - some day you might damage your spine and I might shoot my dick off.
Good luck!
