Used to carry a Kershaw Leek with Damascus Steel Blade. Had it daily for 7 years.

I am trying out a CRKT Swindle (Smooth).

Both we designed by Ken Onion. The Swindle has a bearing at the pivot point, allowing for easy one handed opening without the spring assist of the Leek. If my Leek had this bearing I would switch back in a heart beat. The Swindle has a better blade IMO. I like it's integrated clip visually, but it doesn't function as well as the Leek. It wants to put the knife perpendicular to your body instead of parallel.

The troopers around here do this to just about everybody on a bike they pull over. If I have a multi-tool on my belt, they let that go. I have even seen them tow and impound bikes of guys who were not wearing DOT approved helmets.

Just added my first NATO strap to my Deep Blue Sea Quest Diver. I'm typically a metal bandkind of guy, but wanted to change it up, and NATOs are really easy to switch. Only broke one springbar tool in the process!

I purchased one of these after reading several good reviews, but with the 'curviness' I can't seem to get it to hide under my shirt very well. Even ordered a custom holster for it from Squared Away Customs .. will probably end up selling and getting a 'straight' one.
I got an aftermarket belt sheath that mounts on the outside of my belt. the handle now tilts downward and the grip comes naturally to hand. I wear long baggy shirts, so concealment is easy.
Forgot where I got it (I'll check around), but Valhalla Custom Kydex (Valhalla Custom Kydex) makes very nice stuff, and custom work is reasonable. He has a couple of TDI sheathes already.
He made me a custom sheath for a nice, but little known, KaBar a good friend left me after he died. Now I can mount it upside down on my MOLLE vest - perfect! And he knows so much about knives that I called him, described the knife to him, he knew it, made the sheath without my knife, and it is perfectly fitted.
At work a ZERO TOLERANCE 0360.skd one of the earlier serial numbers and a Smith and Wesson folder that I use to make my way into locked project buildings. The tip is dulled from at least a hundred entries.

how do you like this knife. im in the market for a quality EDC knife and this one is near the top of the list so far?
Also is there any legal distinction between carrying a knife that appears more conservative vs. one that is obviously more of a weapon with an aggressive look like a karambit ? I have been considering something like the Emerson P-SARK
which might be seen as a weapon and not a tool and concerned how it would be perceived? what about assisted openings?
anyone else have experiences with Emerson knives? i was almost 100% on them but then read negatives regarding their locking abilities. actually any knife using liner locks. So after reading this i was drawn towards the benchmade and their highly regarded AXIS lock.
I have both Benchmade (Mini Griptilian) and Emerson (A100 and mini A100) knives. No concerns with either locking mechanism.

thanks. finally decided. i went with a Spyderco Manix 2 in s110v and a syderco yojimbo2. anxiously awaiting them. Was really close to getting the Benchmade 940 osborne. i would of had got the P-sark but dont like the chisel grind but love the wharncliffe style blades. I was also really liking the Hinderer with wharncliffe blades but couldnt get myself to pony up that much. plus i find it really annoying in the frame lock style knives they have nice scales on the one side and plain on the opposite. it really ruins a knifes appeal to me.
I thought about getting one of the KBar TDI also.Unsure how I'll like it tho. Right now I just carry a cheap Kershaw folder or a mini Gerber para frame....No pics right now tho.

I carry a kershaw folder or a Gerber para frame mini but I am thinking of getting a KBAR TDI or CRKT minimalist but can't decide.

Just got this Benchmade 940 Emerson-design in SV30. I wanted to try a high-tech steel for freehand sharpening and I really like the looks. It is half the weight of my Kershaw Shallot and the blade is not as wide, it sits very low in the pocket (which is good, it is hidden). Not heavy duty but a very nice knife that does everything I need (I'm not a farmer or framer). And the purple spine is very pretty.
Still the damn Kershaws that cost 1/3 the price really flick and deploy much faster. I've got the Kershaws down so I can flick them open with that intimidating "click" just like racking a shotgun. Not that it actually scares bad guys away but it feels cool as Hell. This damn Benchmade takes two distinct finger movements to lock open, at least a full second, and I have to listen to make sure it locks because it closes super easily. So I'm not entirely sold on it or the other locking mechanisms.... Kershaws and their more expensive brethren ZT seem to have the best opening IMHO.
Anyway I'm going to keep practicing trying to get it to fly open but it's also sharp as Hell and I might loose some flesh so if you see a green Benchmade stained with blood in the classifieds you'll know whose it was.

Nothing fancy nothing mega expensive, feels great in the hands and does what I want and need (and actually a bunch more as you can see the few things on it that will help in a real scenario..seatbelt cutter,tempered glass breaker and LED light )
