.475 A&M Magnum
That looks to be just about perfect for what I am looking for and the price is within reason. Does it hold an edge well?

Bcs Guy,
Assisted opening knives are illegal in New York State.
The applicable law is Section 265 of the NYS Penal Code.
Possession of an AO knife is "Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree", which is a class A misdemeanor.
If you want a folding knife that is legal and extremely easy to open, try 1) Benchmade Axis Lock (like a Griptilian, Osborne, etc) ; or 2) a Spyderco model with a ball lock mechanism (Para2 or Sage 3...)

In addition to switchblades, "gravity" knives are illegal. AO knives fit into the statutory definition of gravity knives.
Are you sure those aren't the NYC regs? Cause you can go into most any Walmart, Cabelas, ect and find assisted opening knives like the Kershaw Blur for sale. I carried a Blur for years in Niagara and Erie counties.is this one of those screwed up things that the Assisted opening knives are allowed to be sold in NY state but Not owned or Carried in NY State?
Its called the 940 Osbourne.Been caring one of the cheaper SOG "Fielder's" lately. Nice blade but the thumb stud sucks. Still looking for that perfect EDC blade,
I second that, great knife. Its called the 940 Osbourne.
Benchmade will replace any damaged blade for a nominal fee. $30 I think.I too carry the benchmade emissary and I love it. I actually had a nightmare last night that I bent the tip and damaged it.
Love the blade shape on that!
Gift certificate, a rebate and free shipping made me do it.Love the blade shape on that!
Oh, and that BM Anthem........ aren't we the Mr. Moneybags?
Must've been one helluva gift card! Thats a "Gold Class" model innit?Gift certificate, a rebate and free shipping made me do it.
I once drove through NYC with my PM2 clipped to my pocket, oooooooooohh come arrest me NYPD!Love to carry something nice but can't over here. The closest I can get is a leatherman.
No, just a pricey blue.Must've been one helluva gift card! Thats a "Gold Class" model innit?
Wow.... the Anthem costs more than some of the fancied up Gold Class models. No, just a pricey blue.
I think the gold class are just blue or black class then upgraded with fancy stuff, not really a working knife so to speak.
I have no interest in those, the Anthem was probably the most I could or would spend on a blade.
It is the slickest folder I've fondled. Slight tug back on the axis and a little flick and deployed, same with closing it. But it is tight as can be and the titanium makes it super light.Wow.... the Anthem costs more than some of the fancied up Gold Class models.
Don't get me wrong, I think its an awesome knife for sure, I'd love to have one. I'd also like a Hinderer XM18 or Sebenza too though. I think the Sebenza (or related CRK model) will be my first high dollar knife.
Certainly a very high class blade. It looks like a pocket shredder though, all those ridges. I'm assuming the steel is CPM 20CV?It is the slickest folder I've fondled. Yes on the blade, as for the ridges they are not as "sharp" as they look rather rounde on top. My only complaint is the clip, made of the same material so it's a bit stiff.Certainly a very high class blade. It looks like a pocket shredder though, all those ridges. I'm assuming the steel is CPM 20CV?
