Mass killings cannot be stopped, but why give the killer the advantage of a weapon which cycles quickly, carries multiple rounds, and can be reloaded easily? Sure, a pump, revolver, lever, or bolt action will kill but no way it can even come close to a semi.
I carry a semi or revolver for personal protection. I would happily give up the semi if it would lead to a (slow) reduction in the availability of that type of weapon.

When I use to hunt, absolutely no one carried a semi-automatic rifle since this would result in mocking their marksmanship or competence with a firearm. The goal was always one shot and done.

This isn't about hunting. In a stressful situation you're bound to have missed shots. I want every advantage that someone else may have.

Where did you “ use” to hunt? Sounds like the crowd that you hunted with were a bunch of punks. I’ve hunted for more than half my life and not once was I Ever criticized for using my grandfather’s semi auto 30-06

There are bolt action/lever action/semiauto firearms all of the same caliber.

Nope. The phrase “Shall not be infringed” is black and white, and only capable of misinterpretation by extreme mental gymnastics which indicate severe defect in the development of logic and reason.

I will not accept an infringement of my rights in lieu of punishing the criminal for their actions. If mass shooters were captured alive, convicted beyond a reasonable doubt, and summarily stood up against a wall and shot (speedily, no protracted trial bullshit), I posit that you would see a marked reduction in such crimes. If mass shooters were not made the subject of a torrent of mass media attention, resulting in their names being recognizable to a vast number of the population, I believe there would also be a reduction. These people who write lengthy papers on their crimes are narcissistic in the extreme, and want to be known.

As an aside, criminal acts of murder have fuck all to do with hunting. It’s quite beyond me how hunting always comes up in discussions of these crimes. I’ve never heard carpentry mentioned in any talk about a murder committed with a hammer, for example. It’s frankly idiotic.

Why is government so obsessed with suburban and rural firearm ownership and allows urban illegal ownership to proliferate and encourages it via bail release and allowing multi crime offenders to keep arming? Urban criminals tend to work in packs. The problem is in suppressing the news on a national level not suburban and rural gun owners.

Feel free to exchange the word " news" with "propaganda".
