Which makes it harder as the holster is not stable where on a belt it is. Give it up. Nobody is driving out to a range to make you a custom video to prove something we already know. You have admitted to never owning one and you do not know what you’re talking about or how to use one. Leave it to the reasonable gun owners to handle. You would prolly feel safer with an air soft gun.

Anything can be dangerous when used improperly. Regardless of holster the finger is always to remain straight forward and indexed up high on the side of the slide until ready to shoot. End of story. Millions of others also know this golden rule. Sorry you don’t.

The video proves that at the fastest speeds possible the finger remains in the exact proper position and your argument and claims have stalled. Reholstering means nothing in relation to your claims. Try it with any holster at full speed. You too will be slightly off a few times. It’s irrelevant.

After doing some research, there are ALOT of people shooting themselves or having a ND with this particular holster......and only this holster.
Other people have ND with other holsters of course, but not ONE other holster has been near the amount of ND as the Serpa holsters....nowhere near. For that reason alone it seems the Serpa is a poor choice.
These are not all inexperienced shooters. There are certified trainers, cops, military instructors, operators and people with decades of handgun expierience.
ANY way to lower the chances of a ND is a good idea.
I use holsters with thumb breaks. They do basically the same thing with no fear of touching the trigger.

You should not apply heavy pressure and never with the tip of your finger. When the finger is straight forward it is impossible to curve it approx 50° and pull the trigger.

Your entire claim is based on your perfect trigger discipline.

Lets say that the SERPA triples your chance of making a trigger discipline mistake while drawing compared to the alternatives. Given it's history and the opinion of professional instructors I think this is quite a conservative estimate.

You are saying that your chance is 0, so 3x 0 is still 0 and it's not a problem.

The other argument is that if it's not absolutely 0, then 3x whatever your personal failure rate on draw stroke trigger discipline is, it will result in 3 times the chance of an ND.

So, lets say you make a trigger discipline fault on one in 10,000 draws with a regular holster that would be one in 3333 on the SERPA. Even if you say "I'm better than that", OK, you're one in 100,000. Well that's one mistake in 33,333 with the SERPA.

Now lets say a trigger discipline fault has a 1 in 100 chance of leading to an ND.

Even if it's one in a million, and odds are you will never make a mistake in your whole life, the odds that you will are *still* much higher with the SERPA.

So, the only time the SERPA isn't less safe than the alternative is if it's either not more likely to cause the mistake (which we can argue, but consensus is that it is) or you are absolutely perfect.

You can argue that the increased risk is low enough and you are willing to take it, etc, and that is your right. If I go to the range and see someone else is drawing from one I'll give them a wide berth (at least).

I've never tried the SERPA (and based on it's reputation alone I never will).

Your familiarity with the product obviously makes you far more qualified to judge it than I am, but to simply write off all the concerns as "well, I just won't make that mistake" is a very dangerous mindset to have.

Safariland has documented cases of guns going off while inside the holster. Their official website even has a notice warning of such. A quick search will reveal it. Therefore all people should throw that garbage holster away and stop using it. If not you are a hypocrite @Edwardteach72

Do a search. There are many sights reporting officers guns discharging while holstered. The official site has a safety bulletin posted. See for yourself or bury your head in the sand. The choice is yours, but the big difference is one was user error (SERPA) the other was product failure (Safari).

The reason it’s called a Negligent Discharge, is because someone Negligently Discharged a round, if they didn’t there would be no discharge or a serious issue with said firearm. Either way if your finger doesn’t contact the trigger you won’t have this problem unless you have a defective firearm or you put your finger on the trigger when you shouldn’t have, right or wrong ?

Hmm so the reddit post has to do with a gap to get a specific holster gun light combo to fit.. ok dont use that combo (this is the same as saying dont put your finger on the trigger that you keep screaming)

The last one had to do with the officer playing with his gun and holster.. still didnt see how it was the design of the holster in that article


Oh and hey let's talk about that on the website.. has to do with one specific model of holster and that specific model does not use the ALS or GLS...

Guess what wont buy that holster just like why would I buy a shitty serpa (granted those discharged all seemed to be linked to the holsters combined with sig guns, guess I wont buy the 6070 if I plan on carrying a P226 or P229)
