The lack of a weapon doesn’t really mean much. You don’t know what he verbally said and regardless if a weapon was in the car or not the action was threatening especially given the circumstances. What if he said he was going to kill the kids? What if he said he was getting his gun? Behaving like that while at gunpoint leads the officers to reasonably believe he is going for a weapon and justifies the shooting. You don’t have to wait to be looking down a barrel or until x shots have been fired at you or the kids in order to eliminate the threat. Were the officers in fear for their lives or the lives of others including the kids in the car? A reasonable person would say yes.For the life of me I will never understand why people don't freeze and comply when a cop points a gun at you. What was this guy thinking? That doesn't mean this is necessarily a good shoot. I want to know more about what preceded it and if their was a weapon in the car. Madness.

This kind of thinking reflects the problem at hand.A scary situation and a good shoot. Guy made a clear deliberate decision to retrieve something from his car while already at gunpoint and not following commands. The fact that he was at gunpoint from the start shows that he was already out of control and a safety threat to others. One can reasonably believe he was on a clear path to retrieve a weapon from the vehicle. He wasn’t going for a bologna sandwich. There were also children in the vehicle that were at risk from his actions. Once again a situation that could have been avoided by complying with basic instructions. When will these idiots learn?
Can you articulate a reasonable and specific suspicion that the police were in the wrong from the start? Please include all of the details. The burden is not on them to prove they were right. It is on you to prove they were wrong. From everything the video shows it was a good shoot. Seems like you have a pro-criminal bias. This kind of thinking reflects the problem at hand.
"The fact that he was at gunpoint from the start shows that he was already out of control..." fails to even consider whether the cops were in the wrong, fails to consider what occurred before the video began and demonstrates blind pro-cop bias.

Who's your source? Do share. If I am not mistaken, the Police were there due to a call of another domestic violence inceident caused, again, by this guy. As the story was told, he had a weapon in his hand., He responded none to the orders of the Police. I have heard that the Police gave this asshole more than 100 chances to stop and to drop the weapon. Yeah, guns were out.

Still waiting on your statement providing the specific details that would articulate a reasonable person to suspect the police were in the wrong and should not have had guns drawn.Who's your source? Do share.
An objective and reasonable person would not make absolutist statements like you did concerning whether the cops were justified in their behavior. Particularly if based on the clip of video under discussion.Still waiting on your statement providing the specific details that would articulate a reasonable person to suspect the police were in the wrong and should not have had guns drawn.
Ok so you have no information and were just talking out of your ass. Sounds good. I'm sure all of the cops on scene had their guns out for no just reason. That seems like a reasonable conclusion to draw based on nothing at all. Carry on.An objective and reasonable person would not make absolutist statements like you did concerning whether the cops were justified in their behavior. Every news radio station in Chicago has been replaying audio of his wife/girlfriend screaming at the cops. Apparently he is a fine upstanding member of society.
