How bad? Total or fixable with a sledge hammer?
    FrankenCub
    FrankenCub
I think I can fix it with judicial sledge hammer work, a new piece of channel steel for the rear, and a ton of welding. It was beat to hell before I got it so I did't expect it to hold up a long time. It's already been welded back together 15 or 20 times lol

This time the rear channel steel got ripped right out of it and shit is bent all over :D
New NYSP games, grey metallic Charger, nice aluminum rims, civi plates and blacked out windows.

And a black Ram, civi plates, blacked out windows. Both lit up in the windows and grills.
Finally had good weather to do my rear brakes, 14 bolt extreme duty parts are HEAVY! Gonna be eating codeine for the next week. Never again
$1200 to fix my Dana 60 front axle @.@ Wish my mechanic friend didn't move to Colorado :(

They are stock gearing, it's a military M1008. Basically a K30 on steroids. Low geared and heavier payload. Dana 60 front and the big corp 14 bolt full floater rear. She's stout :D Stronger all the way around. Top speed is 55 but I feel better cruising at 45 lol.

My old man used to have old stake trucks like that. 55 mph and that ole straight 6 would be screaming, at least 4000 r's. Pull tree stumps in first gear tho.

Mine has the 6.2 Detroit, I think the max RPM is like 3400 lol.
State Police been hassling pickups with trailers like crazy lately in Binghamton. Glad I didn't buy that M101.
Amazing, a new starter and my 33yr old 6.2 Detroit will start just as easily and as fast as a new Duramax!

Yeah but people get butt hurt over Duramax too. Frankly, as far as I'm concerned its Cat and everything else. Old school Detroit Diesels a gtg also.
    I drive a Cummins atm.

I don't like the computer BS of the Duramax, too much to go wrong. This old Detroit is super simple. I'd like to get my hands on a LMTV, they have a Cat. 3116 I believe. The Pete wrecker I used to drive also had a Cat and I loved it.
Damnit Harvey, back the fuck off! I NEED MY TRANSFER CASE!!!

Not really a priority now is it?

Sure is. Property we're cleaning up is downhill away from the road 130yds, not wet other than a couple spots but parts can be slick after rain. No official driveway in it yet. Just a two wheel path. Also need 4x4 and low range for pulling some roots. It's put us behind schedule.

The builder actually called earlier this afternoon, the part he was waiting on finally came in. He was putting everything else aside to get my t-case done. Will be picking it up tomorrow.
What a headache, looking at foreclosed and cheap homes for sale. New Hampshire-South Carolina :-/
Huge surprise today. Little over 255 miles round trip and my old M1008 got better than 18 mpg! Max speed, 55 mph. Engine won't turn faster.
Interesting ancestry.com finds. Turns out I have a family member that was a spy for George Washington.
Now I'm impressed with the Detroit in my truck, 8 degrees when I had to make a firewood run last night and she fired up beautifully.

6.2 diesel in my '84 M1008. Too many people confuse the diesel used in the olde Chevy trucks with the Olds conversion diesel so I just refer to it as a Detroit. As that's who designed and built those engines.

I'm really diggin the DD15 in my new freightliner.

It's got a good pedigree behind it. The only big diesel experience I have besides the old 2 stroke Detroit is Mack which I can't stand, and Cat which I really like.
WOW friend of mine just broadsided by a pickup. Had to be cut from the car him and granddaughter taken to UpState Med

I don't suppose I could get the name of the granddaughter? I wanna get my family in on the prayer train.

I will ask my mom, I know it but I'm not sure how she spells it. Thanks Pod, I'm sure her family will appreciate it..edit..It's Julianna, but pronounced Julie on ah. They usually call her Onna (phonetic).
I hate people who advertise a truck as "runs strong" but then tell you oh, it doesn't start :pissedoff:
Was supposed to look at a M1008 on Thursday, postponed to Friday. The suspense is killing me!!!!

Nope, still can't. The guy contacted me again and the new starter didn't do the trick. He's changing the starter relay now :( I'm running out of time, I NEED a truck!
Tactical lights and pressure switch on my bolt gun? Yup, may have to go there. Coyotes going batshit crazy and no one to man the spotlights

It does get exciting. A lot of times I get them holding up on me so they're busting me somehow. Being colorblind I can't always see them so I have to pick my sets carefully so I have a way to more easily see movement. Sometimes I really don't care, it's fun just being out there.

Wow now that you mention it I might have been staring right at them, I'm partially color blind.
    FrankenCub
    FrankenCub
You might have missed seeing some. I'm really bad, to the point it almost cost me my CDL because I failed to color blind test. My red/green sight is almost nonexistent lol. How bad I want people to see from colorblind eyes for a day, it's impossible to explain to others what I see.
I believe I was also using the antec Kohler, can't remember for sure though. Mine started running hot and fried cpu, not exactly sure the cause, but I did see one or two dried watermarks on mboard.

I've had no leaks at all but did notice the pump getting louder. After more testing last night it got to 212°, the pump isn't circulating like it should so I'm going to try to pick up a different cooler. Probably go just fans/heatsink to save some cash. I already blew everything I had on my AR lol.
May be scarce a bit. Either the water pump in my PC is taking a shit, or my processor is about to. It doesn't like 165°f

Check for any unusual processes running?
    FrankenCub
    FrankenCub
Everything is running as it should, also a Linux system so it's very low resource. I actually don't doubt the water pump could be going bad, it's run almost 24/7 for the last 4 years lol. Sometimes months on end until I have a power failure due to weather.

Good as gold now, picked up a new Corsair H115i today from my local favorite PC shop. Idles at 66.2 and 70.8 and runs at 97 when I push it more. Good for another 5 years.
