Been consistent with the gym since my August post. My strength has come right back. Easily within 70-100% of my peak levels depending on the lift. My muscles felt like they got inflated with an air hose in the first month.
I got to a good spot strength-wise, so now I'm doing a small, but...
Somewhat. It's not about having too many guns, it's about not having enough range time. You can have 100 guns, but if you go shoot a lot, you'll be a good shooter. You can also have 1 gun collecting dust and suck. The only time having too many guns makes you a worse shooter is when you have to...
For sure Trump now. He has the Senate, probably the House, he got a clear mandate with the Electoral College and the popular vote majority.
Most importantly, because he lost in 2020, he's had 4 years to plan. He knows better now than he would have in 2020 who the backbiters, liars, schemers...
NYT and NPR still havent called Alaska for Trump for those last 3, haha. It's cope. Their newsrooms are probably a 1984-style struggle session right now.
I second Robin's recommendation of a single-shot .357 rifle. He can hunt deer with a .357 softpoint or hollowpoint. He can use .38 roundnose to practice and to hunt small game. More flexible than a .22 in terms of what you can legally hunt with it, but with lighter recoil than a 20 gauge.
Believe me, it's not employees, it's 100% on management. They talk a big game about "quality this, the customer that, one big family" while paying poor wages, creating a shitty work environment, layoffs, firing expensive (skilled) employees to hire cheap (inexperienced) ones, cutting costs on...
I don't like Deagles at all. Stupid, big grip. Awkward weight and balance. OK trigger. Great for Mexican carteleros, Russians in movies, and Deadpool.
I prefer a good revolver in .44 Magnum or bigger. More practical, more fun, and depending on caliber, more power. The X-frame Smiths are more...
Finally confident enough that I'm over the injuries well enough to renew my gym membership. Jogged the half-mile to my local gym and hit back and biceps. Lifts in the 3-6 rep range, strict technique to failure. Followed up with one drop set for the bicep workouts and two for the back workouts...
Very cool. Not really the same in form, but I'll toss this guy in a lunchbox. A little Kabar "tactical" spork with a knife that clicks into the handle.
So if you're using a Lee 4-die set, your 2nd die the expander/powder-thru die is what you use to set how much you bell your case mouth. If you're shaving copper jacket, you should bell your cases more. With the Lee expander die, all you need to do is turn it in until you have enough bell that...
Just coming off some foot and wrist injuries that had me out for the better part of the last 9 months. Every time I tried to get back on the grind too soon I would end up walking with a limp again or not able to do a pushup from the wrist pain. I gave myself a good 3 months to heal. Now I'm back...
I agree that if you want a real shooter and plan to shoot a lot, go for the 1301 (or Benelli M4). My cutoff is definitely higher than a box of ammo/year though. The A300 really is a nice gun, but the 1301 is a really nice gun.
If you only shoot it a few times per year and want a semi-auto...
Stretching that budget by $300, get a Beretta A300. It's an excellent value. The 1301 and M4 are better shotguns, but are they $1000 better? Maybe for someone who plans to shoot it a whole lot.
Canik really stepped their game up in the past few years. They have one of the best triggers you can get in a sub-$1000, striker-fired handgun. Their sights are very good with fiber-optic fronts and blacked-out, target rears. Ergos are generally very good. Excellent slide serrations, a nice grip...
So it would depend on the store. Could they sell you a stripped lower if you pinky swear to make it a bolt action? Yes. Same way they could sell you a lower before and you would have to pinky swear to build it into a NY compliant rifle. Some will. Others don't want to risk the chance that you...
I wouldn't be astounded at all. I worked for Kimber and saw for myself what your friend saw at Remington. I'm sure those sheisty practices are common throughout all the big names in the industry.
Yup, that strain screw should be fully tightened and part of your periodic maintenance should be to take off your grip and make sure the strain screw is tight.
And yea, corporate culture is leading to trash QC. Their bean-counters have figured out how many fucked guns they can get away with...
Yea, it's funny talking to air gun afficionadoes about air rifle power. They get very enthusiastic over what I'd consider meager power factors for even a black powder weapon, nevermind modern smokeless arms.
Still, with good bullet selection and marksmanship training, it's doable and ethical...
I didn't realize they were moving to Tennessee. That explains a lot. Same with Kimber moving down to Alabama. They made the biggest portion of the move out of Yonkers from 2019-2021. I tell people to be cautious buying Kimbers from the past few years and generally advise against buying any...
Send it back to them. Make them pay shipping both ways, the half-dozen hours of employee time it takes to receive, fix, and ship your gun, the parts it takes to fix it, and the ammo it takes to test it. The only way these companies will learn is by hitting their wallet. And make your .44 a Colt...
I'm not a fan of Ruger's double-action revolvers personally. It's mostly the aesthetics. Rugers just don't have a refined look to them, IMO. I love the single-action revolvers. I think those are a nice balance of aesthetics and rugged build.
As far as their casting process goes, their castings...
As for the holster, I can't recommend this company enough for a good leather holster. Sourdough Pancake™
This is an OWB holster, you can order it with removable IWB straps, and you can even get a harness to use it as a chest holster. I've carried my 629 in all those ways with that holster. I'm...
Yea, the Stealth Hunter has porting and the Magnum Hunter has a compensator. I like my 629 Classic a lot - 5" barrel, full underlug. Carries almost as well as a 4", but has the muzzle-weight of a 6 and bullet velocity is only about 100-150 fps less than my 7.5" Super Blackhawk. It's more...
Awesome choice. That's high on my list when I finally get me a .357 Mag. The Stealth Hunter is a cool choice. I prefer the Magnum Hunter for looks, but it's close. Then there's also the weighted barrel Competitor for its own cool factor and to really make the .44 a pussycat without the extra...
In Westchester, the semi-auto rifle endorsement is added to your firearms license. You submit an amendment with one extra notarized document (forgot which). I waited 3-4 months for mine to be approved. They never mailed it to me, so I only found out it was approved 5 months after submitting it...
And you would go help the guy if you were there? You could guess the motive was some gangland shit. Do you want to be the number to dial 911 so that you're now on record as a witness?
Yup. Look to the Federal statutes for the definitions of pistol, revolver, shotgun, or rifle. NY law defines "Firearm" as any pistol, revolver, SBR, or SBS.
Well, 6 either already happened or is extremely unlikely to ever happen depending on how you look at it. Ruger owns Marlin now, so getting a Marlin 1894 in .357 is pretty much exactly what you're asking for. Unless you want one specifically Ruger-branded. In that case, I think it's a longshot...
Agreed with Podmonkey.
Imo, it doesn't replace the .308 at all. It's fine if there wasn't already a .308, but in its standard form it's not much or any better. With the steel-base, 80k PSI version, it gains some great velocity with an AP penetrator bullet... OK, cool, but you can't switch...
As far as I know, New Jersey is the only state that prohibits carrying firearms. I don't know of any localities that prohibit it either.
There is definitely no NY state-wide or NYC-specific restriction on them. I'd be interested to know if anywhere else in the U.S. prohibits them.
